Bucs signed DE Jeff Charleston. Charleston takes the roster spot of Adrian Clayborn, who is out for the season with a knee injury. He'll play behind new starting end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim.

Vikings signed DE Jeff Charleston and waived DT Terrell Resonno.

ESPN's Stacey Dales reports that Jeff Charleston is expected to start at right defensive end until Will Smith returns from suspension. First-round pick Cameron Jordan and Junior Galette will open the season on the bench. Charleston racked up three sacks and two forced fumbles in limited action last year, but he's an obvious downgrade from Smith in terms of pass rush ability. The Saints will likely struggle to push the pocket with their base personnel against the Packers Thursday night. They host the Bears in Week 2.

Saints re-signed DE Jeff Charleston. A pass-rushing specialist, Charleston appeared in all 16 games a season ago, notching 26 tackles and three sacks. He could have a hard time equaling those numbers in 2011 with the Saints sporting an improved defensive line.
