Giants C J.D. Walton (ankle) said he feels 100 percent healthy. Walton hasn't played in a game since Week 4 of the 2012 season due to a broken ankle and its ensuing complications. He inked a two-year, $5 million deal that includes $3 million guaranteed with the Giants in March and is expected to get every opportunity to earn the starting job over rookie Weston Richburg.

Broncos waived C J.D. Walton. The Broncos' starting center in 2010-11, Walton was limited to four games by a broken ankle in 2012. The injury lingered into 2013, where Walton began the year on the reserve/PUP list. He was activated on November 5, but had yet to appear in a game. Walton's release is a vote of confidence in C Manny Ramirez. Walton graded out as Pro Football Focus' worst center in 2011. He'll have to prove he's healthy before someone takes a flier on him for 2014.

Broncos placed C J.D. Walton (ankle surgery) on reserve/PUP. The Broncos are holding out hope that Walton can return sometime between Week 6 and 9. It remains an unlikely outcome. Walton's continued ankle problems have shown no signs of clearing up, leaving Manny Ramirez as the Week 1 starting center. Dan Koppen (ACL) is done for the year.

Broncos placed C J.D. Walton (ankle surgery) on the active/PUP list. He'll go on reserve/PUP at final cuts. Walton underwent a second surgery on his troublesome ankle in June. The Broncos are hopeful he'll be able to play in the season's second half "if all goes well with healing." Nick Koppen will be Denver's starter in Week 1. Walton is in the last year of his contract.

Speaking at the Combine, coach John Fox gave J.D Walton (ankle surgery) a vote of confidence as the Broncos' starting center. Walton fractured his ankle in late September. The Broncos don't seem concerned any longer with Walton's recovery. "He's definitely the starter," Fox confirmed. "And that's the way he'll start the season when we form back up. Like everywhere, he still has to compete, but that's the starting point."

Broncos C J.D. Walton triggered an escalator in his rookie deal, raising his 2013 salary from $575,000 to $1.323 million. Walton started the first 36 games of his career before fracturing his ankle in Week 4 of 2012, an injury that landed him on injured reserve. Entering the final year of his contract, Walton should re-assume his starting duties with veteran Dan Koppen ticketed for free agency.
