The Eagles will waived Ajayi, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

The move signals that the Eagles are poised to welcome Jordan Howard (shoulder) back to the field this week. Ajayi will now look to catch on with a team looking to add running back depth, such as the Seahawks.

Ajayi did not play in Sunday's win over Washington.

EDGE Analysis

The Eagles played 77 offensive snaps in the victory, and Ajayi wasn't on the field for one of them. Meanwhile, Miles Sanders and Boston Scott saw 55 and 35, respectively. It appears it will take an injury for the Boise State product to become relevant again.

Ajayi rushed twice for five yards and couldn't haul in his only target in Monday night's 23-17 win over the Giants.

EDGE Analysis

Ajayi got his first carry on the Eagles' third drive of the evening, late in the first quarter. His biggest contribution came in the second quarter when he converted a third-and-1 for a first down, but he didn't touch the ball again. Instead, Boston Scott played the complementary role to Miles Sanders, seeing 39 snaps and having a huge game in the process. Things are only going to get more muddled for Ajayi when Jordan Howard (shoulder) returns.

Ajayi carried twice for nine yards in Sunday's 37-31 loss to the Dolphins.

EDGE Analysis

Ajayi played nine snaps for the second straight week but saw four fewer touches. Meanwhile, Miles Sanders totaled 105 yards, scored, and played 62 snaps. With Jordan Howard nearing a return from a shoulder injury, it seems Ajayi's role in this offense will be limited going forward.

Ajayi carried the ball six times for 16 yards in the team's Week 12 loss to the Seahawks.

EDGE Analysis

Ajayi was active for the second consecutive game, but received his first touches as an Eagle in 2019. All told, he saw six of the team's 23 total rush attempts, with Miles Sanders doubling his workload. The majority of Ajayi's yardage came at the end of the first quarter, when he ran off right end for 11 yards. Though he'll likely remain on the team as depth, Ajayi could quickly be relegated to minimal game action if Jordan Howard (shoulder) is able to return for the team's Week 13 matchup against the Dolphins.

Head coach Doug Pederson said Friday morning he expects Ajayi to see action in Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

EDGE Analysis

Pederson did not provide any clues about Ajayi's expected workload, but it appears he could see at least some snaps after not taking the field in Week 11. The availability -- or lack thereof -- of fellow running back Jordan Howard (shoulder) will likely be a major factor in just how much work Ajayi ultimately sees.

Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Ajayi was only available as an emergency option during Week 11's 17-10 loss to the Patriots, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

EDGE Analysis

Ajayi was active Sunday but did not play any snaps. The 26-year-old reunited with Philadelphia just two days before the contest, but his complete lack of usage comes as something of a surprise with Jordan Howard (shoulder) having been inactive. Ajayi will now get the benefit of a full week of practices to acclimate to the Eagles' playbook, so there's a chance he sees a larger role against the Seahawks in Week 12 if Howard once again is unable to go.

Ajayi is listed as active Sunday against the Patriots, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

EDGE Analysis

Ajayi was the Eagles' No. 1 RB during the run to the Super Bowl two years ago, but an ACL tear suffered Week 5 of last season has kept him on the sideline until this point. There's a chance he gets into Sunday's game in the absence of Jordan Howard (shoulder), but Miles Sanders and Boston Scott are better bets to get snaps out of the backfield.

Ajayi is expected to make his season debut Sunday versus the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

EDGE Analysis

Starter Jordan Howard (shoulder) is expected to be unavailable and Darren Sproles (hip) is on injured reserve, so Ajayi should be active despite only signing with the team Friday. Miles Sanders is set to work as Philadelphia's No. 1 running back Sunday and Boston Scott figures to be the second man up. Ajayi has starting experience with the Eagles but hasn't seen game action since suffering a torn ACL in Week 5 of 2018, and the lack of practice time will likely keep him in a limited role early on.

Ajayi and the Eagles came to terms on a contract Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

EDGE Analysis

Philadelphia and Ajayi quickly agreed to a reunion after he worked out for the team Friday amid the Eagles' mounting depth concerns at running back. With Darren Sproles (hip) shut down for the season and Jordan Howard (shoulder) uncertain to suit up Sunday against the Patriots, Ajayi could be active in Week 11 as a third running back behind Miles Sanders and Boston Scott. Though Ajayi boasts prior starting experience and has averaged 4.5 yards per carry over his four-year NFL career, his lack of recent practice time along with the fact that he hasn't played a competitive game in 13 months following an ACL tear make it unlikely he'll seize a major role right away for Philadelphia.
