Titans HC Mike Munchak passed up an opportunity on Monday to say Javon Ringer (hip, back) will be active in Week 2. The third-year back has been sidelined since mid-August. With the Titans still trying to ease Chris Johnson back into game action, Ringer could be in line for a handful of carries against the Ravens this weekend if he can get on the field. He, and not rookie Jamie Harper, remains CJ2K's primary handcuff.

Titans declared RB Javon Ringer, DE Jason Jones, QB Rusty Smith, CB Chris Hawkins, C Kevin Matthews, OT Byron Stingily, and DE Derrick Morgan inactive for Week 1 against Jacksonville. Jamie Harper will back up Chris Johnson. Ringer has hip and back injuries, and didn't practice last week. Morgan is recovering from a followup procedure on his knee and might be back in a few weeks. Stingily is a raw rookie.

Javon Ringer (back) is listed as questionable for Week 1 against the Jaguars. Terry McCormick of Titan Insider is characterizing Ringer's injury as "back spasms," which can be unpredictable. The Tennessee beat writers don't seem to expect Ringer to play against the Jags. Jamie Harper will back up Chris Johnson.

Javon Ringer (back) was held out of practice again Thursday. Ringer's latest back injury may have been caused by the hip ailment that bothered him late in the preseason. Coach Mike Munchak was "discouraged" by Ringer's absence Thursday, a bad sign for his chances of playing in the opener. The Titans are unlikely to add another back, leaving Jamie Harper as Chris Johnson's backup.

Javon Ringer (back) did not participate in Titans practice on Wednesday. Ringer dealt with a hip injury the final few weeks of training camp, but it was his back that held him out today. The Titans are optimistic he'll be able to return on Thursday. HC Mike Munchak indicated rookie Jamie Harper could be in line for a handful of carries if Ringer isn't able to give it a go on Sunday, but it's much more likely the Titans just give Chris Johnson an even bigger workload.

Titans coach Mike Munchak assured Friday that Javon Ringer (hip) remains on track for Week 1 against the Jaguars. Ringer's injury cost him over two weeks of practice time and preseason games, but he'll return as Tennessee's No. 2 running back for the opener. All of the missed time from Ringer indicates Chris Johnson should be in store for a heavy Week 1 workload. Ringer isn't likely to be in any better shape than CJ2K.

Titans coach Mike Munchak assured that Javon Ringer's involvement in the offense won't be slowed by his lingering hip injury. Ringer is likely to practice this week, but he'll miss the preseason finale. "The fact he's been here and knows our system and it hasn't changed that much," said Munchak. "I think we're fine with him. If he's healthy, he'll be able to contribute to us in a big way." Ringer remains ahead of rookie Jamie Harper on the depth chart and will start Week 1 if Chris Johnson's holdout continues.

Javon Ringer (hip) is unlikely to play in the Titans' preseason finale Thursday. The Titans hope Ringer can practice this week, but his hip injury is starting to become a concern for Week 1. It's quite possible that he'd split touches with Jamie Harper if Chris Johnson's contract situation isn't settled by then. HC Mike Munchak confirmed that the coaches have more confidence in Harper than they expected at this point.

Javon Ringer (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Bears. Ringer has missed six straight practices, but coach Mike Munchak believes he can make up for lost time as long as he plays against the Saints in the preseason finale. The Titans, meanwhile, are looking to add another back for depth with Chris Johnson holding out.

Javon Ringer (hip) has missed six straight practices through Wednesday. The injury is not considered serious as Ringer remains listed as questionable for Saturday's third preseason games. However, his absence has allowed rookie Jamie Harper to rack up tons of first-team reps and make a good impression. If Chris Johnson's holdout extends into the season, Ringer would be the early-down workhorse and Harper would fit in as the passing-down/change-of-pace back.
