The Titans reportedly fear that Javon Ringer's left knee injury will end his season. The injury looked bad on the field, as Ringer's knee bent backwards beneath him after Vikings CB Josh Robinson landed on him at the end of a four-yard reception. Jamie Harper would take over as Tennessee's clear-cut backup if Ringer is lost for the season's remainder. Harper would be worth grabbing in fantasy leagues because Chris Johnson has continued to play like a guy who needs to be benched. (In real life, not just fantasy.)

Javon Ringer (elbow) is practicing in full this week. Ringer, who has been dealing with an elbow infection, hasn't played a snap in 2012, but it looks like he will make his season debut in Week 4 against the Texans. If he can show anything in the run game, Ringer could start eating into Chris Johnson's early-down work.

Titans declared RB Javon Ringer, MLB Colin McCarthy, OLs Mike Otto and Deuce Lutui, WR Lavelle Hawkins, and S Al Afalava inactive for Week 3 against the Lions. Ringer is still out with his elbow infection even after putting in a full week of practice. McCarthy suffered an ankle injury in Week 1 against the Patriots. Jordan Babineaux is starting at free safety over Robert Johnson on Sunday, too.

Javon Ringer (elbow) is officially questionable for Week 3. The "questionable" tag is a bit of a surprise after Ringer got in a week of full practices, but he'll be active, barring a setback. That's bad news for Chris Johnson, whom the Titans will no longer have to endure on third downs. If CJ11-4K keeps averaging 1.1 yards per carry, it won't be long before he starts ceding some early-down work to Ringer.

Javon Ringer (elbow) has resumed practicing. Barring something unforeseen happening, Ringer will be active for Sunday's tilt with the Lions, and finally ready to start putting heat on struggling lead back Chris Johnson. Ringer could immediately supplant Johnson on third downs.

Javon Ringer (elbow) is expected to return to practice this week. It's not good news for Chris Johnson. Ringer will get a majority of the third-down reps and could also siphon some early-down work. The Titans' staff has to be sick of watching Johnson, who is averaging 1.10 yards per carry through the first two weeks.

Javon Ringer (elbow, out) revealed that he could have lost his arm had doctors not gotten his elbow infection under control. Ringer was lucky the Titans caught this quickly. He's been ruled out for Week 2, but could have lost his career if they hadn't detected the infection in his left arm sooner. Ringer's timetable to return to action remains uncertain.

Javon Ringer (elbow infection) is out of the hospital, but not expected to play in Week 2. It's good news for Chris Johnson, who won't have Ringer around to steal snaps if he plays as pathetically as he did in Week 1. CJ11-4K says he was "very surprised" at his struggles against the Patriots, but that his confidence remains high. Hopefully he doesn't get out-rushed by Brandon Weeden this week. Ringer should be ready for Week 3.

Javon Ringer (elbow infection) was absent from Titans practice Wednesday. Ringer was inactive for Week 1. It will be notable if he's out again on Sunday because it means there will no one to siphon passing-game snaps from Chris Johnson if he turns in another pathetic performance. Ringer missed a golden opportunity to make an impact in last week's loss to the Patriots.

Titans backup RB Javon Ringer has been hospitalized with an elbow infection. According to coach Mike Munchak, Ringer has been "in and out" of the hospital since coming down with an infection late last week. It's unclear if the injury will affect Ringer's Week 2 status after he was a late scratch for Sunday's loss. Ringer missed a golden opportunity to contribute against the Patriots, as Chris Johnson was bottled up for a pathetic four yards on 11 carries.
