Seahawks waived OL Jason Spitz.
Spitz is no longer needed with Max Unger (probable, arm) returning this week. He hasn't appeared in a game since 2011 and is unlikely to draw any interest on waivers.

Seahawks signed G/C Jason Spitz, formerly of the Jaguars.
Spitz, 30, and Seahawks GM John Schneider are familiar with each other from their days together in Green Bay. Spitz missed all of 2012 with a foot injury and was released by the Jaguars in mid-August. He's pure depth in Seattle.

Free agent G/C Jason Spitz visited the Raiders and Steelers.
Spitz was released by the Jaguars on Monday. The 2006 third-rounder hasn't appeared in a game since 2011, or made a start since 2009. Even in lineman-needy Oakland, he wouldn't be a candidate to start.

Jaguars released G/C Jason Spitz.
The Jags under since-fired GM Gene Smith paid Spitz $1 million guaranteed including a $750,000 signing bonus in 2011. In return, he gave the team zero starts over two seasons. Spitz is familiar with the Packers' coaching staff and could get a look there. He was Green Bay's third-round pick in 2006.

Jaguars placed C/G Jason Spitz (foot) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Spitz's foot sprain proves to be more severe than originally thought and it's major blow to the Jags' offensive line depth. He was locked in as the primary backup to both C Brad Meester and LG Will Rackley. Jacksonville also placed C John Estes, G Drew Nowak, TE Matt Veldman and FB Brock Bolen on injured reserve, ending their seasons.

Jaguars C/G Jason Spitz's (sprained foot) recovery timeline has been adjusted from 2-3 weeks to six weeks.
It means LG Will Rackley's top backup is likely to miss at least 1-2 regular season games. Dealing with a high-ankle sprain, Rackley is "recovering quickly," but expected to be sidelined at least another week.

Jaguars C/G Jason Spitz is out 2-3 weeks with a sprained foot.
It's a blow after starting LG Will Rackley suffered a high ankle sprain that will cost him all of the preseason. Spitz is the top backup to Rackley and C Brad Meester. The Jaguars will likely scour the waiver wire this week.

Jaguars agreed to terms with G/C Jason Spitz on a three-year contract.
The Jags coaches have long admired Spitz's versatility and pedigree. It's interesting to note the signing came on the same day LG Vince Manuwai showed up out of shape and veteran Justin Smiley was released. Spitz is expected to compete for a starting guard job this year and possibly take over for Brad Meester at center in 2012.
