Seahawks waived OL Jason Spitz. Spitz is no longer needed with Max Unger (probable, arm) returning this week. He hasn't appeared in a game since 2011 and is unlikely to draw any interest on waivers.

Seahawks signed G/C Jason Spitz, formerly of the Jaguars. Spitz, 30, and Seahawks GM John Schneider are familiar with each other from their days together in Green Bay. Spitz missed all of 2012 with a foot injury and was released by the Jaguars in mid-August. He's pure depth in Seattle.
