White says he will be more vocal now that the Patriots don't have Tom Brady as a leader in the locker room, Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
White enters his seventh NFL season as a team captain, with 301 of his 322 career receptions coming from Brady's right arm. The transition to catching passes from Jarrett Stidham and/or Brian Hoyer may come with some bumps, but White remains a good bet to average at least five or six targets per game. It's also possible he sees a bit more work on the ground, though Sony Michel (ankle), Rex Burkhead and Damien Harris also will be battling for carries. Michel is recovering from May foot surgery, with early reports suggesting he isn't looking at a long-term absence. White is locked in as the top backfield choice for clear passing situations after averaging 63 catches for 557 yards and 4.8 TDs over the past five years.

White carried the ball once for 14 yards in the team's Wild-Card Round loss to the Titans. He added five receptions for 62 yards.
EDGE Analysis
White led the Patriots in both receptions and yards, providing a spark for the offense that was otherwise lacking. Notably, White accounted for three of the team's six longest plays, highlighted by a 29-yard screen pass on the first possession of the game. White once again proved to be a weapon as a pass-catcher throughout the campaign, totaling 645 yards and five scores through the air. Though less productive on the ground, he's carved out a clear niche in the Patriots' offense, though that could come to an end as he is set to hit the open market this offseason.

White rushed twice for four yards and secured all three targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' 27-24 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
White played a typically minor role in the running game, but he salvaged his day from a fantasy perspective with his fifth receiving score of the season in the fourth quarter. The versatile back finished the regular season with multiple catches in all but one of his 15 games and will look to play his usual complementary role in next weekend's wild-card matchup against the Titans.

White logged 33 of a possible 73 snaps on offense in Saturday's 24-17 win over the Bills, en route to carrying three times for five yards and catching four of his five targets for 24 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Meanwhile, Sony Michel ran 21 times for 96 yards, adding a five-yard reception, and Rex Burkhead ran five times for 20 yards and a TD while catching four passes for 77 yards. Burkhead's increased involvement in the passing game Saturday cut into White's production, but looking ahead to Week 17 and the playoffs, White, who remains a trusted target of QB Tom Brady, should see enough targets to merit PPR consideration.

White caught three of four targets for 49 yards and a touchdown and added 13 yards on three carries during Sunday's 34-13 win over the Bengals.
EDGE Analysis
White got New England on the board early in the first quarter, taking a quick screen for a 23-yard touchdown as he twisted and turned through Cincinnati's defense. White now has three receiving touchdowns in December after just two total touchdowns in his first 11 games and a general late-November lull in production. The storyline in New England has been that Tom Brady lacks trust in the majority of his potential targets. White and Julian Edelman may be the only exceptions, so it's reasonable to expect Brady to look the veteran back's way often down the stretch. Next up is a Buffalo defense that White nabbed eight passes for 57 yards against in Week 4.

White carried the ball six times for 33 yards and caught five of seven targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the modest numbers, White was the most consistent member of the Patriots' backfield on the afternoon. Sony Michel, Rex Burkhead and Brandon Bolden combined for only 33 rushing yards on 13 carries, although Bolden did find the end zone. White will try to take advantage of another plus matchup Week 15 on the road against the Bengals' porous defense.

White rushed 14 times for 79 yards and caught eight passes (11 targets) for 98 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 28-22 loss to the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
New England's offense was stagnant for nearly three quarters, but White caught fire in the fourth and finished with a monstrous fantasy performance. The receiving specialist did most of his damage in the passing game, but it is worth noting that he also finished with more carries than early-down back, Sony Michel, for just the second time this season. Game flow likely dictated this unusual carry split, but White could be in store for a similar workload next Sunday against the Chiefs in the event the Patriots are playing from behind early similar to this week's contest.

White logged 21 of a possible 70 snaps on offense in Sunday's 13-9 win over the Cowboys, en route to carrying twice for five yards and catching one pass (on three targets) In for minus-6 yards.
EDGE Analysis
In rainy conditions at Foxborough on Sunday, lead back Sony Michel recorded 20 carries for 85 yards, while QB Tom Brady was limited to 17 completions and 190 passing yards. White thus turned in his second straight low-impact outing, following a previous string of PPR-worthy efforts. He'll no doubt have games going forward where he's more involved in the Patriots' passing attack, but with Rex Burkhead also in the team's change-of-pace mix, White's fantasy utility down the stretch largely will depend on weekly game scripts and score-dictated game flows.

White carried the ball five times for 20 yards and caught four of seven targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Eagles. He also ran for a two-point conversion.
EDGE Analysis
The two-pointer helped salvage what was otherwise a quiet performance, as White produced his fewest scrimmage yards since Week 2. The running back has seen at least five targets in six of the last seven games, however, and his steady role in the passing game gives him a solid PPR floor heading into next week's tilt against the Cowboys.

White had nine carries for 38 yards and a touchdown, adding 46 more yards on two receptions (three targets) in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
White churned out a rare performance in which he had more of an impact on the ground than through the air. The 27-year-old picked a great time to score his first rushing touchdown of the season, as he was limited to a season-low three targets and two receptions. White popped up on the injury report Friday with a minor toe injury, but he didn't seem to be hampered by the issue. New England suffered its first loss of the season and was playing from behind for most of the contest, which is why its receiving back saw the most touches Sunday. The Patriots had one of the easier schedules over the first half of the season, leaning on its elite defense and ball-control style of offense. Things may change following the upcoming bye week with a slew of high-octane offenses on tap (at Eagles, vs. Cowboys, at Texans, vs. Chiefs). Those types of matchups bode well for James getting more involved in the gameplan.
