Gibbs rushed the ball 17 times for 65 yards in Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Chiefs. He added one reception on two targets for zero yards.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbs regained control of the Detroit backfield by a comfortable margin, out-touching David Montgomery 18-6. However, he had only five touches in the second half as the Lions were forced into a pass-heavy offense. Gibbs was inefficient with his opportunity on the ground, but the bigger concern is his lack of involvement as a pass catcher. He now has two or fewer catches in three consecutive games while recording a total of 39 receiving yards in that span. Despite some shortcomings in his profile, Gibbs' role in a strong offense will keep him as a must-start option, with Sunday's loss marking only the second time in six contests that he's failed to find the end zone.

Gibbs rushed the ball 12 times for 54 yards in Sunday's 37-24 win over the Bengals. He added two receptions on two targets for 33 yards and a touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbs has showcased his versatility in the Lions' offense in the last two games, primarily working as a rusher in Week 4 before being excellent as a pass catcher in Sunday's win. His touchdown came on an impressive 20-yard yard catch and run on a quick screen, during which he weaved through traffic before barreling through several players to reach the end zone. David Montgomery saw the majority of work in the fourth quarter with Detroit in control of the game, but Gibbs has still found the end zone in four straight games while surpassing 85 scrimmage yards in each of those contests.

Gibbs rushed the ball 15 times for 91 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-10 win over Cleveland. He added two receptions on two targets for six yards.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbs found the end zone early in the contest, ripping off an eight-yard score with three minutes remaining in the first quarter. He also chipped in two rushes of more than 20 yards in the second and third quarters to top 90 rushing yards for the second time in four games this season. With Detroit up by multiple scores for the entire second half, Gibbs saw limited opportunity as a receiver, the only downside to his box score Sunday. He now has four total touchdowns in as many games to begin the campaign, while also topping 90 yards from scrimmage in each of the last three games.

Gibbs took 22 carries for 67 yards and two touchdowns while catching five of six targets for 32 yards in Monday's 38-30 win over the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbs was uncharacteristically inefficient on Monday Night Football, failing to crack the century mark in total yards despite handling a season high 27 touches. Fortunately for managers, the fantasy stud still generated RB1 numbers by making his second and third trips to the end zone this season. David Montgomery (12-151-2) also went off for Detroit in a shining example of true timeshare that can produce two valuable assets on a weekly basis. Gibbs will face another stiff test defensively when the Lions host the Browns on Sunday.

Gibbs rushed 12 times for 94 yards and a touchdown and brought in all three targets for 10 yards in the Lions' 52-21 win over the Bears on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Although Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown mostly stole the show in Detroit's jaw-dropping offensive breakout, Gibbs rather quietly put together a fruitful fantasy performance. The dynamic back outpaced David Montgomery by one carry and 37 rushing yards, with Gibbs' game-long 42-yard scamper the big difference between the two backfield mates. Gibbs also recorded his first rushing touchdown of the season on a six-yard run in the first quarter, which served to round out his production on a day where he was limited to a mid-level workload. Gibbs will look to navigate a particularly challenging matchup when the Lions travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens in a Week 3 Monday night showdown on Sept. 22.

Gibbs rushed the ball nine times for 19 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Packers. He added 10 receptions (on 10 targets) for 31 yards.
EDGE Analysis
There was plenty of offseason speculation that Gibbs would take over the backfield from David Montgomery, though Montgomery had 11 carries to Gibbs' nine. Gibbs still managed to salvage his day with a team-leading 10 catches, but he also found running room hard to come by in that context. Week 1 was a disastrous game for the Detroit offense overall, so a Week 2 matchup with the Bears should allow Gibbs to bounce back while also potentially clarifying his role in a more typical game script.

Gibbs said last week that new Lions offensive coordinator John Morton has him splitting out wide "way more than I was the past two years," per WXYZ-TV Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbs took 39 perimeter snaps during the regular season last year, eighth most among RBs, but his 16 slot snaps ranked just 22nd. He finished the year on a high note in terms of receiving involvement, with a career-high 11 targets in January's playoff loss to Washington, after catching at least four passes in each of the final five regular-season games. His receiving involvement spiked following David Montgomery's MCL injury, with Gibbs surprisingly having averaged just 2.3 catches on 3.0 targets per game in Weeks 1-13. There's a chance his pass-catching production becomes more consistent under a new playcaller, and also some chance Gibbs takes more of the workload away from Montgomery in general, but with the risk that Detroit's offense won't be as efficient in general after losing former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to the Bears this offseason. The Lions also lost starting right guard Kevin Zeitler to the Titans and center Frank Ragnow to retirement, but they're bringing back all their other 2024 starters on offense, including the elite tackle duo of Penei Sewell and Taylor Decker.

Gibbs rushed the ball 14 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 45-31 divisional-round loss to the Commanders. He added six receptions on 11 targets for 70 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbs was a bright spot in the disappointing playoff exit for Detroit. Even with David Montgomery back in the mix, Gibbs led the backfield with 20 touches as opposed to only seven for Montgomery. Gibbs found the end zone twice from two and eight yards away, while also adding explosive gains of 33, 23 and 15 yards to post his highest yardage total of the campaign. He'll enter 2025 in the third year of his rookie contract and should remain a driving force in the Detroit offense after posting 1,929 yards and 20 yards from scrimmage across 17 regular season games in 2024.

Gibbs rushed 23 times for 139 yards and three touchdowns while catching all five of his targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-9 win over the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbs scored all four of the touchdowns by either team in Detroit's convincing win, which capped the regular season by securing the top seed in the NFC for the Lions. The four touchdowns brought Gibbs' season total to a league-leading 20 (16 rushing, four receiving), which were accompanied by 1,929 scrimmage yards. He'll likely handle a heavy workload in the NFC divisional round following Detroit's bye in the wild-card round, even if the Lions get David Montgomery (knee) back for their playoff run.

Gibbs rushed 18 times for 117 yards and a touchdown and brought in all four targets for 46 yards in the Lions' 40-34 win over the 49ers on Monday night.
EDGE Analysis
Gibbs once again functioned as the clear lead back and handled the role with plenty of success, exceeding 100 yards on the ground and recording a rushing TD for the second time in as many games with David Montgomery (knee) sidelined. Gibbs' 30-yard scamper up the right sideline with just under three minutes remaining closed out the scoring on the night for Detroit and served as his 16th total touchdown on the campaign. Gibbs should be in line for another critical role as the Lions face off with the Vikings on Sunday night in Week 18 to determine the NFC North winner and NFC's No. 1 seed.
