Clowney has agreed to terms with the Panthers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per Rapoport, Clowney's deal with Carolina is for two years and $20 million, with a maximum value of $24 million. During his lone campaign with the Ravens, Clowney finished the 2023 regular season with 43 tackles and 9.5 sacks over the course 17 games. By adding the top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft to the defensive mix, the Panthers will bolster a pass rushing unit that's looking to make up for the recent trade of Brian Burns to the Giants.

Clowney finished the regular season with 9.5 sacks over 17 games and recorded 32 total tackles.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran signed with the Ravens late in training camp and turned in one of the best seasons of his career. With Odafe Oweh still coming into his own and David Ojabo working his way back to pre-injury form, Baltimore desperately needed edge help and Clowney delivered. Clowney and fellow veteran Kyle Van Noy combined for 18.5 sacks as Baltimore went on to lead the NFL in sacks (60). Baltimore signed Clowney to a one-year deal, so he will be a free agent this offseason, though he could certainly be in the mix for a return to the Ravens on another short-term deal.

Clowney recorded three total tackles (two solo), including one sack in Sunday night's 20-10 win over the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran edge rusher has now tallied 7.5 sacks through 12 games this year, eclipsing seven sacks in a season for the fourth time in his 10-year NFL career. Clowney now ranks second on the Ravens in sacks on the season, trailing only Justin Madubuike. The former first-overall pick has bounced around the league over the last five years, with Baltimore being his fourth team in that span, but it now seems as if he may have found a home for the immediate future.

Clowney recorded six tackles (two solo) including two sacks in Sunday's 33-31 loss versus the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Clowney made a big impact against his former team in Week 10, racking up multiple sacks in a single game for the second time this year. He's on pace for one of the most productive seasons of his career at age 30, and he should get plenty of opportunities to rush the passer versus the high-flying Bengals in Week 11.

Clowney is slated to sign with the Ravens, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Clowney, who was released by the Browns this offseason, should complement Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo off the edge, while contributing to Baltimore's defense as a situational pass-rushing option. During the 2022 season, Clowney recorded 28 tackles and two sacks in 12 games with Cleveland.

The Browns released Clowney on Wednesday, the team announced.
EDGE Analysis
This is a pure bookkeeping move, as Clowney's contract was already set to void. Cleveland is just spreading out the cap hit, making him a post-June 1 cut. Clowney recorded just two sacks in 12 games opposite Myles Garrett last season. The No. 1 overall pick of the 2014 Draft will be looking for his fifth team this offseason. Clowney has just 43 career sacks across 109 games.

Clowney (coach's decision) has been downgraded to out ahead of Sunday's game against the Steelers, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Browns' decision to hold Clowney out for the season finale comes as little surprise after he was sent home from practice Friday following his comments suggesting that he was already planning on leaving Cleveland in free agency this offseason. Alex Wright is expected to start at defensive end in place of Clowney, who finishes his lone season in Cleveland with 28 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble in 12 appearances.

Clowney was sent home from practice Friday after making inflammatory statements regarding the Browns organization and his future with the team, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram, head coach Kevin Stefanski has come to a decision on whether Clowney will play in Sunday's season finale against the Steelers, but Stefanski isn't ready to share that decision yet. Clowney will most likely be asked to stay home, allowing rookie Alex Wright to start, though official confirmation of such a move may not come until closer to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.

Clowney (undisclosed) was told to stay home from practice today and is not expected to play Sunday versus the Steelers, Brad Stainbrook of 247Sports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear why Clowney was excused from reporting Friday, but it appears as if his 2022 campaign has come to an end. The 29-year-old will finish the year with 28 tackles, including two sacks, while deflecting three passes with a forced fumble and fumble recovery over 12 contests. Clowney signed a one-year contract with the Browns in May and will likely test the open market this offseason.

Clowney (concussion/illness) is active Sunday against the Commanders, Anthony Poisal of the Browns' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clowney was unable to practice Thursday, leaving the veteran's status for Week 17 in doubt. However, he has cleared the league's concussion protocols, and his ability to play will certainly bolster the Browns' pass rush against Washington.
