Lions declared CB Jacob Lacey (foot) inactive for Thursday's game against the Texans. Drayton Florence draws the start in place of Lacey. The Lions do get a boost as S Louis Delmas, the heart and soul of their defense, will play through his knee woes. As earlier reported, Jeff Backus (hamstring) is inactive, giving rookie Riley Reiff the start on Matthew Stafford's blind side. Also inactive for the Lions are WR Titus Young, QB Kellen Moore, DT Corey Williams (knee), OT Corey Hilliard and DE Ronnell Lewis.

Lions CB Jacob Lacey (concussion) will resume practicing this week. Lacey missed Weeks 7 and 8, but should be good to go against the Jaguars. It's excellent news for a team that was forced to start rookie Jonte Green opposite LCB Chris Houston against the Seahawks. Bill Bentley (shoulder) remains sidelined, however.

Lions declared CB Jacob Lacey, CB Bill Bentley, S Amari Spievey, LB DeAndre Levy, OT Jason Fox, OT Corey Hilliard and QB Kellen Moore inactive for Week 8 against the Seahawks. Rookie Jonte Green will start opposite LCB Chris Houston, while Erik Coleman will man strong safety in Spievey's absence. It's good news for Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, though it would be unwise to count on the rookie signal caller to take advantage of the situation. Seattle will stick with its usual ground-and-pound formula in the Motor City.

Lions RCB Jacob Lacey (concussion) and SS Amari Spievey (concussion) have been ruled out for Week 8 against the Seahawks. Lacey and Spievey's absences shouldn't be felt as much this week because Seattle rarely throws the football, but Detroit's secondary clearly remains an injury-ravaged mess. And the Lions have already had their bye week.

Lions have ruled RCB Jacob Lacey (concussion) out for Monday night's game against the Bears. Another cornerback, Bill Bentley, is listed as doubtful with a shoulder injury. Sixth-round rookie Jonte Green or recently re-signed Alphonso Smith will likely get the start opposite Chris Houston. Look for Jay Cutler to take advantage of whoever lines up at right corner for Detroit.

Lions CB Jacoby Lacey (concussion) did not practice on Saturday. Lacey hasn't practiced all week after suffering the injury in last week's win over the Eagles. He is still going through the NFL's protocol on returning from concussions, but his status for Monday's game at Chicago looks to be in serious doubt. Dwight Bentley will likely get the start if Lacey doesn't play.

Lions CB Jacob Lacey exited Sunday's Week 6 game at Philadelphia with a concussion. Lacey drew the start over rookie Bill Bentley, who has four pass interference penalties this season. Lacey is done for the afternoon, leaving Bentley to take on a bigger role.

Lions CB Jacob Lacey says he'd prefer the slot to the outside this season. That's where the Lions would prefer him, as well. "It gives me a chance to get inside, to blitz some, to drop a little bit, get my eyes on the quarterback moving and try to make a play underneath," Lacey said. The comments suggest Lacey won't seriously push Aaron Berry for a starting job opposite Chris Houston in camp.

Lions signed CB Jacob Lacey to a one-year contract. The Lions have found a potential replacement for Eric Wright in a 24-year-old who has already started 27 career games, but was also benched for a five-game stretch by the worst team in the league last season. Lacey is serviceable against the run, but has been one of the league's most frequent burn victims in coverage the past few seasons. He became an unrestricted free agent after being non-tendered by the Colts, and had drawn no other known interest on the open market.
