The NFL and the NFLPA have not finalized an agreement on a new drug policy as of late Friday night, but Gordon remains in position to have his suspension reduced -- likely to 10 games -- if an agreement is reached as expected, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports.
The NFL's VP of PR Greg Aiello released a statement late Friday night indicating that the agreement has not been finalized, as there are still significant unresolved issues to be sorted out. The 32 player reps voted to approve the agreement earlier in the day Friday, but the NFLPA still needs to finalize the deal despite receiving the representatives' approval. In any case, a reduction to 10 games for a fourth career violation of the proposed new policy for his most recent positive marijuana test, Gordon faces an additional two games as a result of his July 5 DWI charge.

How the hell does it make sense for Gordon not to get reinstated when the level of nano grams is now higher than 16?
Uh, gordon is a moron who can't do what everyone else does, and save the pipe for the off-season. He's had several offenses, and ought to be suspended for the season solely based on the fact that he refuses to obey the damn rules of his employer, plain and simple. The rule is irrelevant at that point. You try breaking the same policy at your job over and over, and see how much longer you have a job. I'm tired of people defending his stupid ass just because they like smoking pot as much as he does. If you let a non-addictive illegal substance control your career, that career clearly isn't very important to you, and you therefore don't deserve the job that millions of people can only ever dream of having.
