The NFL and the NFLPA have not finalized an agreement on a new drug policy as of late Friday night, but Gordon remains in position to have his suspension reduced -- likely to 10 games -- if an agreement is reached as expected, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports.
The NFL's VP of PR Greg Aiello released a statement late Friday night indicating that the agreement has not been finalized, as there are still significant unresolved issues to be sorted out. The 32 player reps voted to approve the agreement earlier in the day Friday, but the NFLPA still needs to finalize the deal despite receiving the representatives' approval. In any case, a reduction to 10 games for a fourth career violation of the proposed new policy for his most recent positive marijuana test, Gordon faces an additional two games as a result of his July 5 DWI charge.
