The New York Jets released linebacker Ikemefuna Enemkpali on Tuesday after he punched quarterback Geno Smith in the face, breaking his jaw, according to ESPN. Smith will be out 6-to-10 weeks after he undergoes surgery on the jaw and Enemkpali is now a free agent. The incident reportedly stemmed from a personal matter between the two and had nothing to do with football. "There was an altercation in the locker room," Jets head coach Todd Bowles said at an impromptu press conference. "Had nothing to do with football. Something very childish. He got cold cocked, sucker punched whatever you want to call it, in the jaw. Something very childish that sixth-graders could have talked about and it had no reason to happen. Something you don't tolerate." Enemkpali, a sixth-round pick in the 2014 draft, was competing for a roster spot and will be hard-pressed to find a job in the NFL this season after Tuesday's events.

He was whinging over $600, now he's lost his $500k salary this year and $1.3mil over the next two years, not to mention he's unlikely to be looked at favourably by other teams. What a fool.
