Malcom Floyd says his body feels better right now than it ever has.
Various injuries have previously crippled Floyd, causing him to miss nine games over the last two seasons. Now healthy, he's emerged as Philip Rivers' No. 1 wideout and has racked up 14 times in the first two games. Those targets figure to take a little hit once Antonio Gates (ribs) gets back, but Floyd is a unique athlete at 6-foot-5. Robert Meachem and Rivers aren't on the same page.
Just for the sake of accuracy, the stats don't show too much of an impact for East Coast teams heading west....It's usually the west coast teams heading east that are affected. Think about it, the western teams playing early games; it's like 10:00 AM for them at gametime! Incorporate traveling across the country, hotels, etc., and the human element can make a difference. Other side of the coin, the eastern teams heading west have enough time to get ready for the game. All in all I'm basically describing home field advantage. BUT, again, Floyd is awesome.
