Malcom Floyd caught three passes for 45 yards against the Vikings in Week 1.
Floyd was targeted eight times (five more than Vincent Jackson), but failed to capitalize. Most weeks Floyd will be the fourth target in the passing game, leaving him just shy of WR3 value.
Why do people keep saying he's the 4th option and only a WR3 for fantasy. He was before last year but being the primary option for most of last season gave him a chance to develop good chemistry with Rivers. We all know Gates is healthy he's the #1 option but I think #2 is still up in the air.
well now i wouldnt say that... vincent jackson has proven himself to be the #1 wr on that team... however i will say that i had no idea who malcolm floyd was until i drafted him late last year and he ended up as my #2 behind reggie wayne until he got hurt but i took him again this year and i think that he will be a viable option as a wr3 or a flex play if you are in a 12 team league
Not to say, "I told you so" but compare Floyd's numbers to Jackson's the last 5 weeks (13-17) when he was finally healthy. Unfortunately if history is any indicator that will only be 6 or 7 games a year.
