Malcom Floyd caught five passes for 108 yards in the Chargers' Week 5 loss to the Saints. Floyd's second 100-yard night of the season comes after he was held to a combined five catches for 75 yards in Weeks 3 and 4. True to form, three of his grabs went for 24 or more yards. Floyd hasn't found the end zone since Week 1, and promises to remain inconsistent going forward, but his upside is such that he should be treated as an every-week WR3. He's averaging four catches for 71.6 yards.

Seriously? He should be treated as a#3 WR? I love this website; I've tried others and this one is the best I have found, but sometimes the "experts" here say some crazy stuff. There is no way Floyd should be regarded as anything less than a solid #2.

Floyd is clearly the first option in a vertical passing attack with Gates getting up there in years. Besides wks 3 and 4, he has put up a TD or 100 yds. As the season goes on, he maybe won't blow up every week, but he's going to finish as a top 15 WR. Now that Gates and Mathews are healthy, Meachem is getting in sync w/ Rivers, and Royal is involved, teams can't focus on just Floyd. He will be consistent, and teams don't give 3-year extensions to guys they don't plan to heavily involve. They did it early so at the end of the season when he's got around 1,200 yds and 8-10 TDs, they don't have to worry about him trying to break the bank. Watch, this dude is for really real.
