Greene was released by the Titans on Tuesday, ESPN.com reports. Greene was expected to attend a mandatory three-day minicamp that starts Tuesday, after missing all of voluntary OTAs. It's unclear whether his absence from OTAs affected this decision, but even if he'd stuck with the team through training camp, he would have faced an uphill battle to make the final roster. The Titans save more than $3 million by releasing Greene, so it's somewhat surprising the move didn't happen months ago. Bishop Sankey is the favorite to lead the Tennessee backfield, with David Cobb and Dexter McCluster likely in supporting roles. Greene, meanwhile, will probably need to compete for a roster spot wherever he may land.

Any life left to this once prime time player? He will likely clear waivers in order for the new team to avoid his existing contract, but this guy should find a team real soon. I signed him hoping he gets new life in Dallas.
