ESPN's Kevin Seifert expects Josh Gordon to eventually get another chance to play in the NFL.
Gordon is facing at least a 16-game ban for repeated substance-abuse related infractions. But Seifert points out that players who committed far worse crimes -- Donte Stallworth, Michael Vick, Plaxico Burress -- eventually made their way back into the league. At just 23 years old, Gordon has plenty of time to get his head on straight and start living clean. Assuming the Browns stick by him during his suspension (he still has two years left on his rookie contract), enacting something similar to the "Dez Bryant rules" would make a ton of sense.
Exactly my thought. It's a bit of a leap to say he will play again when he can't stay out of trouble for 24 hours. Obviously a team will give him a chance if he is clean. That's stating the obvious. Mike Tyson would have won more titles if he wasn't in jail too.
there must be something more about Stallworth's case because killing a guy while drunk driving and getting probation just dont add up and he was never a true star in the league. Vick and Burress did something really stupid but never failed multiple drug tests or DUI's so they where not consistent offenders to the leagues policy's. Gordon seems to always be in trouble. its just not an apples to apples comparison.

If he can't stay out of trouble while waiting for the league to hand down his punishment, what chance does he have to "get his head on straight?"

Right... because talented NFL players never go off a cliff and waste their talent... oh wait...

He will obviously get another chance provided he doesn't go all Titus Young during his suspension.

I hope he does go all Titus Young that way he will be done and we can move on instead of talking about this waste any longer. Its beyond pathetic.

If Dez can still play after assaulting his momma, anything is possible
