Eagles HC Andy Reid believes WR Jeremy Maclin (illness) will be ready to practice in a "week or so."
That jibes with what head trainer Rick Burkholder said on Wednesday. Maclin is still not without risk following an offseason and training camp spent mostly off the practice field, but it would be an upset if he wasn't ready for Week 1.
Still risky with his weight loss and lack of strength. If he slips in my drafts, I am going to take him. But I don't think I will risk a high pick on him. What do you guys think?
I'm really nervous. The fact that the illness has taken this long to diagnose is REALLY suspicious. I think Maclin will take a few regular season games to get up to speed, and will be more vulnerable to injury until he's in game shape.
Maclin was productive in Philly's offense last year, that's not an overwhelming track record. He's plummeted out of the top 20 WRs, on my draft board.

As long as he isnt sick then I dont see much risk in him, he's just too productive in a good Philly offense to ignore if he's ok..
He's a little behind everybody else at this point of preseason but it wont take long for him to build up strength and gain weight back.
