Blue, starting in place of the injured Arian Foster (hamstring), had 13 carries for 78 rushing yards and one catch on one target for 10 receiving yards Sunday against the Giants.
While he got only 13 carries, Blue still greatly led the Texans' backfield Sunday, as Ronnie Brown gained two yards on three carries and Jonathan Grimes had one carry for five yards. Foster was close to playing in the game, so it's entirely possible that he returns for Week 4 against the Bills, which would push Blue into the backup role again.
Foster still has read on the tires, but he has weak sidewalls. Arian is basically injury prone these days and Blue could be the lead dog on any given game day. I'll be surprised if the Texans don't end up time sharing between Foster and Blue like they did with Foster and Tate in 2013. Coaching changes do not mean Foster magically gets 100% healthy and indestructible.
