Asiata (groin) was surprisingly announced as Jerick McKinnon's backup for Sunday's game against the Lions, and he finished with just two carries for minus-five yards and one catch on two targets for 18 receiving yards. Despite starting the last four games in place of Adrian Peterson and scoring three touchdowns in Week 4 against the Falcons, Asiata's time as the starter always seemed to be in jeopardy due to McKinnon's upside. Nothing was announced in the days leading up to the game, but McKinnon played well enough Sunday (11 carries for 40 rushing yards and six catches on six targets for 42 receiving yards) to keep the starting job for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, both backs figure to have a tough time in Week 7, as the Vikings travel to face a Bills defense that is ranked second in the NFL in rushing yards allowed this season.

Very interesting that a RB that is top 16 at his position in standard scoring leagues and probably a little better in PPR is being deemed worthless and should be dropped. Mind you he's top 16 and he got two carries week 1 because Peterson was there and week 6 because of injury. You may want to go back and look at weeks 2-5 when he was the #1 RB option for the Vikings and reconsider. He's easily a RB2 when healthy if the Vikings can get their QB's to stop turning the ball over.

Have you watched the guy run? He's got legs like the scarecrow from wizard of oz

I don't care how he runs. All I care about are the FF numbers he puts up and he's putting up decent numbers.

Easy now joejoe

All his points came in one game, and while i definetly benifeted from it. It was one game.

Stoney he actually scored 14, 7, 28, 5 in standard leagues and a little better in PPR. He's a big back and will get most of the goal line carries. He also has some weaker defenses on the schedule but again the QBs have to take care of the ball. It's hard to get points when the other team has the ball.

Everyone loves guys like Darren Sproles but he hasn't scored double digits since week 2.
