Lions waived G/T Isaac Sowells. Sowells was signed for depth with Jeff Backus and Gosder Cherilus sidelined early in camp. Now that both starting tackles are practicing, Sowells is no longer needed.

Lions signed G/T Isaac Sowells, formerly of the Bengals. Sowells has bounced around the NFL, failing to make an appearance since 2008 with the Browns. He's a project-type player at age 29, which doesn't bode well.
