Taylor announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday, NFL.com reports. The 34-year-old Taylor may have struggled in his final few seasons, but he was the Steelers' top cornerback for the majority of his career. While he was never known for his hands and will retire with just 14 interceptions, Taylor was one of the league's better cover corners during his prime. With Troy Polamalu also retiring this offseason, the Pittsburgh secondary will be much younger in 2015. The Steelers figure to target a cornerback within the first few rounds of the upcoming draft, as their current options are underwhelming.

Taylor (shoulder/forearm) is inactive for Saturday's game against Baltimore, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review writer Mark Kaboly reports. Taylor was listed as probable on the injury report, so this would appear to make him a healthy scratch for the most part. His absence won't make Pittsburgh's secondary any worse.

Taylor (shoulder/forearm) is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Ravens, ESPN.com reports. Assuming he suits up Saturday, there's a decent chance that Taylor -- who last played on Dec. 7 -- will work in a reserve role behind William Gay and Brice McCain.

Taylor (shoulder) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Scott Brown of ESPN reports. While Taylor was hopeful he could play Sunday, the team doctors disagreed. Taylor has not practiced at all this week and if he even sees the field against Atlanta, it will be a total shock.

Taylor (shoulder) was pulled from Sunday's win over the Bengals because of a knee contusion, ESPN reports. Though he initially played through the injury, Tayler was removed from Sunday's game after giving up an 81-yard touchdown to A.J. Green. The veteran corner said the issue was affecting his speed, but he still expects to play in Week 15 against the Falcons.
