Redskins waived LB H.B. Blades, DE Jeff Stehle, TE Tony Curtis, and OL Selvish Capers. Blades' chances of making the team diminished greatly when Rocky McIntosh was re-signed. Stehle and Curtis were just camp bodies. Capers had a big name coming out of West Virginia, but was never a good fit for zone blocking.

Redskins signed LB H.B. Blades to a one-year contract. Blades gets a deal and there's no word on fellow free agent Rocky McIntosh. Although Blades won't start, he'd have a better chance to see action on more than just special teams if McIntosh indeed walks.

The Washington Post does not expect free agent LB H.B. Blades to start for the Redskins in 2011 if he's re-signed, even if free agent Rocky McIntosh is allowed to walk. Blades is a solid special teamer, but simply doesn't have starter-level talent. The chances are likely less than 50-50 he ends up back in Washington.
