Harrison Smith (hamstring) was labeled limited in practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Vikings didn't practice Thursday, so Smith's designation is merely an estimation. Since Minnesota plays Monday night in Week 13, Smith has an extra day to ramp up his practice activities. Reports over the weekend will bear monitoring.

Smith was forced out of Sunday's game against the Broncos with a hamstring injury.
EDGE Analysis
Smith's not expected to return to this contest, and Jayron Kearse will likely fill in next to Andrew Sendejo. He's fortunate to have an upcoming bye week, and Smith will look to get healthy for a matchup against the Seahawks on Dec. 2.

Smith tallied eight tackles (six solo), a sack, a pass breakup and a forced fumble in Sunday's 26-23 loss to the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran safety sacked Matt Moore and caused a fumble, but Moore recovered before a Viking could jump on it. Smith led the Vikings in stops during this contest, and he's second on the team only to Eric Kendricks (73) in the category with 53. His average of 5.9 tackles per game is respectable for IDP purposes.

Smith made nine tackles (eight solo) and two pass breakups in Sunday's 28-12 win over the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
Smith is accustomed to being a strong tackler, but he only had six pass breakups in 2018 -- down from 12 in 2017. He appears back on pace to match 2017, and he'll look to carry this performance into a Week 2 matchup versus the Packers.

EDGE Analysis
Held out of preseason Week 3 due to an infected laceration, Smith displayed his health by practicing in full capacity in the first practice in advance of the season opener. Over the course of his career, he's showed his worth as an IDP with 91.5 tackles, 3.2 interceptions and 1.9 sacks per 16 games played.

Smith did not play in Saturday's 20-9 preseason win over the Cardinals due to an infected laceration, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer explained that Smith had been dealing with an infected cut, but the decision to keep him sidelined Saturday was simply precautionary as the starting safety would have played if more were on the line. There's no reason for Minnesota to risk Smith's health in the preseason, so we may not see him in game action again until Week 1 against the Falcons on Sep. 8.

EDGE Analysis
The numbers are fairly consistent to Smith's output over the last couple years as he earned All-Pro honors for the second straight season, this time as a second-team selection. The 29-year-old is signed with the Vikings through 2021 and should remain one of the top safeties in the league next season.

Smith recorded four tackles (three solo) and two passes defensed, including an interception, in Sunday's 37-17 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Smith's interception gives him two on the season. He's one of the better safeties in the NFL but he hasn't put up prolific numbers so far in 2018. He'll aim to maintain his momentum and slow down the Drew Brees-led Saints' offense in Week 8.
