Little got the start in Friday's preseason game against the Saints, bringing in his only target for a six-yard gain.

EDGE Analysis

Little may have gotten the start across from Larry Fitzgerald, but it was recent draft picks Chad Williams and Christian Kirk who did the damage with the first-team offense. Though he seems to have made a nice impression in training camp, the 29-year-old Little is still on the roster bubble, hoping to eventually play in a regular-season game for the first time since 2014.

The Cardinals signed Little to a contract Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

EDGE Analysis

A second-round selection by the Browns in 2011, Litle arguably posted his best campaign as a rookie, notching 61 catches on 121 targets for 709 yards and two touchdowns. He last made a 53-man roster in 2014 with the Bengals, totaling six grabs for 69 yards over six games, but the lack established options at receiver for the Cardinals could give him an outside shot of landing a job with a strong showing during the preseason.

Little was released by the Bills on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran wideout was let go on Tuesday even after his impressive preseason in which he was second on the team in receptions and receiving yards. Little will now hit the open market, with a chance to sign on with a team looking to add experience to their wide receiver corp.

Little caught three passes for 35 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason win over the Giants.

EDGE Analysis

Little was listed with the third-teamers when the initial depth chart came out. However, no one in the large group of receivers vying for the No. 3 and No. 4 jobs has completely stood out, so it's still a wide-open competition for those jobs, or even the final roster spots in general, especially with Greg Salas still sidelined with a hamstring injury. Games like these will help the veteran Little in his cause to make the team.

With Sammy Watkins still unable to practice, Little has seen significant time with the first team offense, BuffaloBills.com reports. Said quarterback Tyrod Taylor, "He's competing each and every day. He's gone out there and tried to make plays on the ball and has made a couple of acrobatic catches. He's in the right place as far as the routes go. He's definitely dialed in."

EDGE Analysis

Watkins will be back soon and Robert Woods is the clear-cut No. 2 guy, but the third receiver spot is a wide open race. Even coach Rex Ryan has no clue who's going to take it and there may be as many as 5-6 receivers with a legitimate shot at the job. If we had to guess, it seems like high-upside guy Dez Lewis and the journeyman Little seem to be turning the most heads - Little through his consistency and knowledge of the game - though there's still plenty of time left for the depth chart to be shaken up. Little could finish anywhere from the No. 3 guy to not making the team.

Little was signed as a free agent Tuesday, BuffaloBills.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Little has had three 40-plus catch seasons since getting drafted in the second round by the Browns in 2011, but has fallen on hard times recently, with just six catches in 2014 while not seeing any action this past season. He'll compete for a spot for a fourth, fifth, or sixth wideout in camp this summer.

Little is inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

EDGE Analysis

Little's inability to play on special teams has prevented him from earning an appointment to the active roster for any of the Bengals' three games this season. Expect Little to enter the lineup only if one of the team's top four receivers goes down with an injury.

Little is inactive for the Bengals' season opener against the Raiders, Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

EDGE Analysis

Little was able to claim a spot as the Bengals' No. 5 receiver in training camp, but because of his limited ability to contribute on special teams, he'll be in street clothes for the opener.

Little surprisingly won a roster spot with the Bengals, due in part to his ability to play on special teams.

EDGE Analysis

Little isn't guaranteed to be dressed for Week 1 - he essentially will battle week-in, week-out with rookie Mario Alford.

Little was released by the Bengals on Friday.

A former second-round selection of the Browns, Little has struggled with drops throughout his career, along with an inability to consistently get separation. He does offer an excellent combination of size and strength for a wide receiver, so he shouldn't have much trouble finding a team that will let him compete for a roster spot. At this point, it's probably safe to write Little off as nothing more than a depth player.
