The Saints signed Johnson to a one-year contract extension Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson made an instant impact for the Saints after he signed with New Orleans in late December, racking up 2.5 sacks in the final three games of the 2017 regular season. The 30-year-old was set to become a free agent at the start of the new league year and his new deal is unlikely to be much, if anything, more than the veteran minimum.

Johnson re-signed with the Lions on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson spent four games with the Lions earlier this season before being waived prior to the team's bye week. In order to make room for Johnson on the active roster, the team waived fellow defensive end Jacquies Smith. In his first four-game stint with Detroit, Johnson averaged just over 20 defensive snaps per contest, recording two tackles in the process.

Johnson signed a contract with the Lions on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson spent the 2016 season on injured reserve with the Buccaneers and was released prior to Week 1 earlier this month. The 29-year-old will hope to replicate his 2014 season in Detroit when he had 29 tackles (23 solo) and six sacks, but he will more likely serve as a rotational piece on the defensive line.

Johnson was released Friday by the Buccaneers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was George's second stint with the team, but after failing to record a single sack in each of his last two seasons, he was resorted to a depth option on the defensive line. He'll now likely start the regular season on the free agent market.

Johnson has been placed on IR after injuring his hip in Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson played in 11 games for Tampa Bay last year, recording 23 tackles in two forced fumbles while seeing the field for 39.4 percent of the teams defensive snaps. It's unclear what exactly his hip injury is at this point, but it was enough for the team to officially end his season just a day after the injury. With him out, look for Cliff Matthews and Jacquies Smith to see some extra reps with the second unit.

Johnson (knee) left Thursday's practice early with what looked like a right knee injury, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old defensive end suffered the injury midway through Thursday's session and had to be helped off the field. Johnson played in 11 games in 2015 with the Bucs after coming over from the Lions as a restricted free agent, collecting 23 tackles, forcing two fumbles, and recovering one.

The Lions have resolved their dispute over the offer sheet Johnson signed with the Buccaneers, making the defensive end an official member of Tampa Bay, ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas reports. After the Lions protested the structure of the three-year, $9 million offer sheet the Bucs provided Johnson, the two teams agreed to exchange unspecified late-round draft picks to settle the grievance. The 27-year-old Johnson served as a rotational end for the Lions last season, but with the move to a Bucs organization starved for pass rushing, he could seriously contend for a starting job.
