Cardinals waived CB Fred Bennett, S Jared Campbell, OLB Will Davis, OLB Cyril Obiozor, P Ben Graham, CB Marshay Green, ILB Pago Togafau, CB Thad Turner, DE Kenny Iwebema, DT Ricky Lumpkin, DE Jeremy Navarre, LB Kendall Smith, and DB Bryant Nnabuife. These are the Cardinals' defensive cuts; outside linebackers Joey Porter and Clark Haggans both appear safe despite their diminishing performance, salaries, and age. The Cards will apparently enter the season with just four corners: Patrick Peterson, A.J. Jefferson, Michael Adams, and Richard Marshall. Dave Zastudil has beaten out Graham for the punter job.

Cardinals signed CB Fred Bennett, formerly of the Bengals. New Arizona defensive coordinator Ray Horton prefers big, physical corners, and Bennett fits the bill at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds. The 27-year-old Bennett was released Saturday by Cincinnati. He's made 17 starts in four seasons.

Bengals released CB Fred Bennett. A four-year veteran, Bennett has tallied 125 tackles and five interceptions in 48 career games. However, he was given extremely limited snaps in nine games between the Bengals and Chargers last season. With their third preseason game already in the books, the Bengals also waived QB Jordan Palmer, S Tom Nelson, CB LeRoy Vann, WR Jamere Holland and LB Stephen Franklin.
