Summers was released by the Bills on Tuesday, WGR 550 reports. The Bills decided they no longer needed a fullback on the roster, so Summers was cut to open a roster spot for C.J. Spiller.

Bills declared FB Frank Summers, QB Jeff Tuel, DB Brandon Smith, OL Mark Asper, OL Antoine McClain, TE Tony Moeaki, and LB Jamaal Westerman inactive for Week 14 against the Bucs. "Frank the Tank" Summers has seen some short-yardage action recently, so his absence can't hurt the fantasy causes of C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson. There are no surprises otherwise among Buffalo's Week 14 inactives.
