Saints placed CB Fabian Washington on injured reserve, ending his season. The injuries continue to pile up for Washington. The former first-round pick tore his ACL in 2009 and missed the majority of training camp this year with a hamstring injury. There wasn't much room for Washington in the Saints' deep and talented secondary anyway.

Saints signed CB Fabian Washington to a one-year contract. Washington is a depth signing for a Saints team that should boast one of the league's better secondaries this season. He has missed a total of 12 games with injury the past three seasons, but could be an asset behind Jabari Greer, Tracy Porter and Patrick Robinson if he can stay healthy. It's not a guarantee he'll be able to pass rookie Johnny Patrick on the depth chart, however.

Free agent CB Fabian Washington has been contacted by the Vikings, Bucs and Jets. Washington has starting experience but projects as more of a nickel corner at this point in his career. The oft-injured former first-round pick would be an inexpensive fallback option in the corner market.
