Dolphins waived TE/FB Evan Rodriguez. They're moving forward with Tyler Clutts. Rodriguez was the 111th pick in the 2012 draft. He lacks a high ceiling and comes with off-the-field baggage.

Bears waived FB/TE Evan Rodriguez. The move comes just five days after GM Phil Emery hinted he'd give his troublemaking lead-blocker another chance. The Bears have signed FB Tony Fiammetta to take Rodriguez's roster spot. A fourth-round pick last season, Rodriguez was hit-or-miss across 217 snaps. Giving up on a fourth-rounder this quickly is unusual, so perhaps the Bears were unsatisfied with Rodriguez beyond his two offseason arrests.

GM Phil Emery suggested that he's willing to give FB/TE Evan Rodriguez another chance. Coming off a very quiet rookie season, Rodriguez has been arrested twice this offseason. Although Emery said he's "extremely" disappointed, he still envisions a larger role for Rodriguez this year. The Bears don't have any other realistic options at fullback right now.

Bears FB/TE Evan Rodriguez was arrested Friday morning for DUI, speeding, and improper lane usage by Illinois State Police. It's Rodriguez's second arrest of the offseason. The first occurred in March on violence and disorderly conduct charges in Miami. Rodriguez was pulled over at 3:30 AM Friday. Charges were dropped following Rodriguez's first arrest, but he's on the roster bubble and trending in the wrong direction.

Charges against Bears FB/TE Evan Rodriguez stemming from an arrest in Miami last month have been dropped. Rodriguez was arrested on charges of resisting an officer without violence and disorderly intoxication on March 20. "Evan was not intoxicated nor did he engage in disorderly conduct," a statement from the law office said. He likely won't face any repercussions from the league. Rodriguez is expected to work as a hybrid, H-back type player for the Bears this season.

Bears 2012 fourth-round pick Evan Rodriguez practiced at fullback during the team's pre-draft minicamp. Bears TEs coach Andy Bischoff insists the club "still certainly recognize(s) his versatility," but Rodriguez appears to be being viewed as a hybrid, H-back type player as opposed to a tight end. GM Phil Emery added that he "certainly was disappointed" in Rodriguez's March arrest for resisting an officer and disorderly intoxication in Miami. We're no longer high on Rodriguez's dynasty prospects.

Bears TE/FB Evan Rodriguez was arrested on charges of resisting an officer without violence and disorderly intoxication in Miami Thursday morning. Rodriguez was booked on South Beach just after 5:30 a.m. He's facing a $1,500 bond. As a fourth-round rookie out of Temple last year, Rodriguez had four catches for 21 yards. He finished the year out as a fullback.

Bears GM Phil Emery indicated at the Combine that the team is still trying to determine 2012 fourth-round pick Evan Rodriguez's position. A tight end at Temple, Rodriguez finished his rookie year at fullback. The Bears want a tight end who can stretch the field. "We're gonna work through OTAs and camp to bring that out and find that right role," Emery said. "Whether it's some more at "F", it's detached, more fullback, or more "F" as a fullback. He'll have an opportunity to display all his skills to our new staff."

Evan Rodriguez is expected to get reps at tight end in practice this week. Rodriguez was a tight end at Temple and played the position in training camp. But he was turned into a fullback once the season came, lead blocking for Matt Forte. Now that Kellen Davis is struggling mightily in the receiving game, Rodriguez is back in the tight end mix.
