Panthers agreed to terms with TE Ed Dickson on a one-year, $730,000 contract. Although Dickson is coming off another disappointing season in Baltimore, he'll be in the driver's seat for No. 2 duties in Carolina. Given an opportunity to finally break out in the absence of Dennis Pitta last season, Dickson responded by catching only 25 passes in 16 games. He'll be called on to block, but has typically been a liability as a blocker. Despite the Panthers' dearth of pass catchers, Dickson should remain off the fantasy radar in 2014.

Free agent TE Ed Dickson is visiting the Panthers. It's Dickson's first-known visit of free agency, though the Baltimore Sun reported last month that he had contract offers from the Jaguars and Ravens. It's a bit unbelievable that Dickson would have turned down any offer after back-to-back poor seasons. In Carolina, he'd compete for No. 2 duties behind Greg Olsen.

The Baltimore Sun reports the Ravens have offered free agent TE Ed Dickson a contract. Dickson, a former third-round pick, has been in contact with the Bills, Jets, and Giants. He struggled with drops at the beginning of last season and failed to do much with his opportunity as the starter in Baltimore while Dennis Pitta was injured. Dickson is stretched as a No. 2 tight end and would compete for a spot.

Dickson is moving on from Baltimore, while the Giants appear to be kicking the tires on most free agent tight ends. Dickson had an opportunity to break out in Dennis Pitta's absence last season, but instead struggled mightily, catching only 25 passes. He's not a No. 1 tight end.

The Ravens aren't expected to re-sign impending free agent Ed Dickson. Dickson has been a major disappointment since being the 70th overall pick in the 2010 draft. He battled major issues with drops and inconsistency while trying to fill in for an injured Dennis Pitta in 2013. Dickson is best suited for a reserve role as an in-line, blocking tight end.

Ed Dickson was held without a catch on zero targets in Week 17 versus the Bengals. Dickson appeared in all 16 games this season, starting 14 of them, but caught just 25 passes for 273 yards and one touchdown. He battled a case of the drops early in the year. Dickson will be a free agent in March. He's best suited for a backup and situational role.

Ed Dickson caught four passes for 44 yards in Baltimore's Week 16 loss to the Patriots. The catches were a season high, while the yards were Dickson's third most of 2013. It's not a day he's going to repeat in Week 17 against a Bengals defense that holds tight ends in check.

Ed Dickson recorded three catches for 55 yards in the Ravens' Week 12 win over the Jets. This was actually one of Dickson's better games of the season. He still has no re-draft fantasy value, but it's always nice to see incremental progress from a player of his ability. Still only 26, Dickson is in a contract year.
