Lowery was released by the Chargers on Saturday, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lowery recorded 60 tackles, one interception, one touchdown, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery last season with the Chargers. The team has decided to move on, however. Rayshawn Jenkins and Tre Boston should see additional time at free safety as a result.

Lowery ended the 2016 campaign with 60 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery to go along with a defensive touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
Lowery's tackle numbers took a major dip after one-year stints with both the Falcons and Colts, but the veteran safety was a reliable presence for the Chargers in a season filled with injuries and turmoil. Still two years left on his deal, Lowery is expected to return to the starting lineup next season, but likely should only be considered an IDP option in the deepest of leagues.

Lowery picked up four tackles (two solo), two passes defended, an interception and a forced fumble in Sunday's win over the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Lowery has been a blessing for a Chargers' defense beset by injuries, as the 2016 free agent import has taken part in every game this season. While his tackle numbers are down from previous years, Lowery has helped stabilize a secondary that has struggled mightily in past seasons.

Lowery picked up five tackles (four solo) including two for a loss, defended three passes and returned a fumble for a touchdown in the Chargers win over the Titans on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Lowery was all over the field Sunday, putting together a handful of tremendous plays to halt the Titans strong running gain. Lowery has been one of the few consistent players for the Chargers on defense, thanks largely to the fact that he's managed to stay healthy for most of the year. While he likely doesn't put up enough numbers to be considered a viable IDP option week-to-week, Lowery could make for a solid bye week replacement in deeper leagues.

Lowery picked up eight tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Lowery led the team in tackles on Sunday, as the secondary was once again tasked with protecting a large early lead. With run-stuffing safety Jahleel Addae potentially suffering a fractured collarbone in the win, Lowery could be in line for more work near the line of scrimmage. He's worth monitoring in deep IDP leagues, but will need to prove that his Week 2 performance wasn't a fluke before starting him with confidence.

Lowery signed a three-year contract Wednesday with the Chargers, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lowery set a career-high in interceptions (4) during his lone season with the Colts and was able to tally 76 tackles to boot. With the Chargers expecting veteran leader Eric Weddle to leave via free agency, Lowery is expected to take over his role at free safety alongside projected starter Jaheel Addae, although the team might not be done adding pieces to their secondary.

Lowery had eight total tackles, a sack and a tackle for a loss in Sunday's loss to New England.
EDGE Analysis
Lowery is averaging 6.6 tackles per game and has two interceptions as he's putting up some decent IDP stats as Indy's starting free safety.

Lowery had two interceptions and two tackles in Sunday's win over Tennessee. He returned one interception 69 yards for a touchdown.
EDGE Analysis
Lowery also had two pass deflections as he's settling in as the starting free safety. He should get more tackles when opposing offenses focus on the run, which has been a weakness for the Colts.

Lowery started at free safety and had six tackles in Sunday's loss at Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
Lowery got almost all of the playing time at free safety as Clayton Geathers had just 11 snaps on defense compared to Lowry's 56 snaps. Lowery could be a good source of tackles as a result as he'll be heavily involved as offenses attack Indy's vulnerable run defense.

Lowery agreed to terms on a contract with the Colts on Friday, Mike Chappell of RTV6 reports. The terms of Lowery's contract haven't been disclosed, but the safety will likely take over as a starter alongside Mike Adams. He finished 2014 with one sack, 79 tackles (60 solo), two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery and could be a decent IDP option again in 2015.
