Haskins directed the first-team offense at Wednesday's practice, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Meanwhile, Alex Smith watched individual drills in the wake of suffering a strained right calf in Sunday's win over the 49ers. Haskins took over for Smith late in the second quarter, but he didn't fare well thereafter, completing seven of 12 passes for 51 yards and compiling minus-12 yards on four carries. Washington seems to have some optimism that Smith will be able to start this weekend against the Seahawks, but Haskins is on hand for spot duty, if needed.

Haskins completed seven of 12 pass attempts for 51 yards and lost 12 yards on four carries during Sunday's 23-15 win over the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Haskins was called into action after Alex Smith (calf) suffered an injury in the second quarter. He completed just 58 percent of his passes and averaged just 4.3 yards per attempt with a long of just 13 yards. Smith's injury is not considered to be serious, so he should start next Sunday's game against the Seahawks, pushing Haskins back to the bench.

Coach Ron Rivera confirmed Monday that Haskins is not being considered as a potential starter in place of Kyle Allen (ankle), Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rivera said that it could benefit Haskins to "truly see how to prepare as a starter" by learning behind Alex Smith, who took over under center after Allen suffered a potentially season-ending dislocated ankle during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Giants. He did hint that the Haskins "may get his opportunity again," but for at least Week 10's upcoming matchup against Detroit, it doesn't appear that there will be any sort of competition between the 2019 first-round pick and Smith. Haskins has been inactive since Week 4, but he could at least now have the opportunity to be available against Detroit.

Haskins (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
With the team unable to move the sophomore signal-caller by the Nov. 3 trade deadline, Haskins has been relegated to the No. 3 seat in the QB room and tagged a healthy scratch for Sunday's NFC East tilt. It's been a quick fall from grace for the 2019 first-round draft choice, who opened 2020 as Washington's starting quarterback but now sits behind Kyle Allen and Alex Smith on gameday. Haskins threw to a 4:3 TD:INT with 234.8 passing yards per game Weeks 1 through 4 as Washington got out to a 1-3 record. He was sidelined briefly with an illness in mid-October and has yet to re-take the starting job.

Haskins (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
During pregame warmups, Haskins was seen tossing some passes, per Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record. Having said that, Washington will keep Haskins in street clothes with Kyle Allen starting and Alex Smith serving as the team's backup quarterback. Haskins was away from the team most of the last week due to a gastrointestinal illness, so his ability to throw Sunday indicates he's at least in good health.

Haskins (illness) is expected to be inactive Sunday against the Giants, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The QB, who had been dealing a gastrointestinal illness, practiced fully Friday and doesn't carry a Week 6 injury designation, but he's not slated to suit up Sunday. Kyle Allen (left shoulder) is thus on track to start against the Giants, backed up by Alex Smith.

Haskins (illness) is back at Washington's facility and is attending meetings Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old has been away from the team all week while dealing with gastrointestinal issues, but he's apparently feeling better since he's back at the team facility. It's unclear if Haskins will be able to practice immediately upon his return, but he's unlikely to see the field regardless since being moved to Washington's No. 3 quarterback behind Kyle Allen and Alex Smith.

Haskins, who didn't practice Thursday, is expected to see a doctor for his ongoing illness, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Haskins only visited Washington's facility Thursday to undergo COVID-19 testing before he was sent home by the team. The aforementioned illness sidelined him this past Sunday versus the Rams and seems to be placing his status for Week 6 against the Giants in question. Still, as the team's No. 3 quarterback behind Kyle Allen and Alex Smith, Haskins isn't in consideration to get on the field any time soon. There's a chance Haskins is a topic of discussion as the NFL's trade deadline approaches on Nov. 3.

Haskins (illness) will remain away from the team Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Haskins remains under the weather, apparently dealing with the same issue that landed him on the inactive list Week 5 against the Rams, as well as caused him to miss practice Thursday. He'll still make a trip to the facility for his regular COVID test but will then return home afterwards. The second-year quarterback recently fell to No. 3 on the depth chart and will presumably be shopped in trade deals in the coming weeks, but he'll likely have to at least return to practice to provide reassurance to possible suitors.

Haskins (illness) won't practice Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Haskins was inactive for Sunday's loss to the Rams after coming down with a stomach virus, and a Football Team official confirms that he's still dealing with the illness as Washington begins Week 6 preparations. With new starting quarterback Kyle Allen (arm) slated to resume practicing in full and veteran backup Alex Smith feeling fine after making his 2020 debut in relief of Allen last weekend, few reps would likely be available for Haskins even if he were healthy. Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the 2019 first-round pick is a candidate to be moved before the Nov. 3 trade deadline.
