Lock suffered a rotator/labral issue in his right shoulder and will miss 2-to-6 weeks, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lock underwent an MRI that changed the diagnosis from a sprained AC joint to a rotator/labral issue, but the timeline for his return remains the same. For the time being, Jeff Driskel is expected to start under center after finishing this past Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh following Lock's injury.

Lock sustained a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Steelers and is expected to miss 2-to-6 weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lock will undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the severity of his injury. Assuming the projected timeline holds, Jeff Driskel, who replaced Lock in Sunday's loss, looks to be in line for a least a couple of starts at quarterback.

Lock will undergo tests on his right (throwing) shoulder Monday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Lock sported a sling when he addressed the media after Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Steelers, the QB said he'll take "it day-by-day," adding that he's "optimistic about it," Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site notes. That said, the Broncos figure to proceed cautiously here, and unless Lock's issue is deemed very minor, the stage is set for Jeff Driskel to start next Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

Lock completed 22 of 33 pass attempts for 216 yards and a touchdown during Monday's 16-14 loss to Tennesee. He also picked up five yards on three rushing attempts, fumbling twice but losing possession neither time.
EDGE Analysis
The second-year signal-caller had some difficulties collecting snaps from center Lloyd Cushenberry at various points throughout the contest, but he was mostly in sync with his young skill-position group. Noah Fant and Tim Patrick each pulled in 80-plus percent of their intended targets, though a pair of drops from first-round rookie Jerry Jeudy will be something to clean up for next week. Lock may now sit at 4-2 as an NFL starter, meanwhile, but his fantasy prospects have diminished since a three-touchdown outing against the Texans in his second career start last December. Over his past four outings, Lock has just three combined touchdown passes and an average of 198.3 passing yards per game. He now prepares for a Week 2 matchup against a Steelers defense that picked off Daniel Jones twice in a 26-16 win Monday.

Lock impressed during Sunday's practice, Benjamin Allbright of KOA News Radio reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allbright, in particular, noted a beautiful deep ball Lock uncorked to Courtland Sutton. Lock impressed during his five-start audition to end the 2019 season with quarterback ratings of over 90 in three games despite playing with a depleted offensive line and little in the way of skill players. Expectations must be tempered as Lock is playing in a new scheme with a lot of young faces. Still, the early reports have been that rookies Jerry Jeudy and Lloyd Cushenberry are impressing, and Lock is responding well to Pat Shurmur's scheme. Any sort of gelling at this stage should prompt excitement.

Lock recently met with a few teammates for a throwing session, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lock had been riding the pandemic out with family in Missouri before recently returning to Denver. Renck did not report which members of Denver's receiving corps participated in the session, but any increased familiarity with his targets will be good for Lock heading into Year 2. The sophomore passer had some impressive moments during his 4-1 run as a starter and it's fair to wonder if he could have performed even better had he not missed a chunk of the preseason and two-third of the regular season with a thumb injury. The Broncos are installing a new offensive scheme and will have a lot of new faces on offense, so every little bit should help with organized team activities presently limited to online meetings.

The Broncos invested three of their five picks during the first three rounds of the draft on offense, building around Lock for his sophomore campaign, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lock went from second-round pick to injured reserve to surprise 4-1 starter all within the course of a few months. He flashed some big-time ability, particularly in Week 14 against Houston, despite having little in the way of established weapons opposite Courtland Sutton. That changed in a big way Thursday and Friday when the Broncos selected wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler in the first and second rounds, respectively, and followed up with the selection of Lloyd Cushenberry in the third round. Cushenberry figures to be a Day 1 starter at center, while Jeudy's smooth route running and Hamler's sub-4.3-40 speed could earn them starting roles as WR2 and WR3. Add in the investments the front office made in power back Melvin Gordon and guard Graham Glasgow in free agency, it all means that if Lock fails to establish himself as the franchise cornerstone in Year 2, it won't be for lack of support.

Lock appears to have little competition for the starting job after the signing of journeyman Jeff Driskel as the presumptive QB2, Benjamin Allbright of KOA News Radio reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lock was mostly solid, but showed flashes of real promise down the stretch during his 4-1 tenure as the Broncos' starting quarterback. That didn't prevent some from calling for Denver to bring in a veteran to push Lock in 2020. That hasn't happened, however, and while Driskel has the athleticism to complement Lock's style, his 1-7 career record as a starter -- albeit on some bad teams -- is unlikely to trigger a camp battle. It is possible that the Broncos look for a developmental quarterback in the late rounds of the draft, but everything is trending toward a full-season audition for Lock in 2020.
