The 30-year-old was unable to separate himself from the rest of New England's receivers in the team's offseason program and has had a quiet training camp four days in. Inman's absence comes at an inopportune time, as he's unable to take advantage of additional reps offered in the absence of Julian Edelman (thumb) and Demaryius Thomas (Achilles).

Phillip Dorsett actually got the strongest contract of the bunch, landing $500k guaranteed on a one-year, $2.6 million deal. The Patriots are throwing numbers at the wide receiver position, with Inman joining the aforementioned players as well as Julian Edelman and first-round pick K'Neal Harry. The team also hopes to eventually add Josh Gordon (suspension) back to the mix, though it isn't quite clear when that might happen. Competition for roles behind Edelman should be fierce.

The 30-year-old had an 800-yard season for the Chargers in 2016 and owns a career mark of 8.1 yards per target, but most teams seem to view him as a No. 4-quality receiver rather than a consistent contributor. He'd likely land fourth on the depth chart in Detroit, where Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones (knee) and Danny Amendola project as the regular three-wide alignment.

Inman recorded 304 yards and three touchdowns on 28 receptions in nine games in 2018.

Inman joined the Colts midway through the 2018 season and ended the year as the team's No. 2 wide receiver. He scored a touchdown in the final-two regular season games and recorded over 50 receiving yards in each of Indianapolis' playoff games. The 29-year-old receiver has had two relatively down years after a breakout 810 yard, four touchdown campaign for the Chargers in 2016. He'll become and undrafted free agent this offseason and could secure a role as a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver with a club in 2019, which would make him a potential fantasy option in later rounds next year.

He'll look to extend his scoring streak to four games Saturday against a Kansas City defense that yielded an average of 273.4 passing yards per game this past season. That mark ranked 31st overall in the NFL.

Inman caught all four targets for 53 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 21-7 playoff win over the Texans.
