Inman is expected to be sidelined roughly six weeks following core muscle surgery, Eric Williams of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Inman is expected to miss the rest of the team's offseason activities, but the timing of the surgery should allow him to return for the start of training camp in the latter portion of July. The 28-year-old developed a rapport with quarterback Philip Rivers following No. 1 receiver Keenan Allen being forced out for the year in Week 1 of last season. He finished with four touchdowns and 810 yards on 58 receptions. With Allen returning this season, and the Chargers' first round selection of Mike Williams in the NFL Draft, Inman will presumably be competing for snap opportunities this season. Thus, entering training camp in full health should be a top priority for the Virginia product.

Inman signed his restricted free-agent tender with the Chargers on Tuesday, Ricky Henne of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Inman has waited in limbo since the Chargers placed a second-round tender on him just before free agency kicked off on March 9. Now that he's back in the picture, though, he'll have a chance to build upon a breakout 2016 season in which he gathered in 58 catches (on 97 targets) for 810 yards and four touchdowns. Potentially hindering his cause are the concurrent recoveries of Keenan Allen (knee) and Travis Benjamin (knee), who serve as two of Philip Rivers' top options in the passing attack, when healthy. Because Allen has played in just nine of a possible 32 games the past two campaigns, the injury bug could again bite and thereby elevate Inman's standing within the offense.

Inman received a second-round restricted free agent tender from the Chargers, Michael Gehlken reported on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Although he's coming off a career-best season, Inman is unlikely to draw interest from other teams now that it requires a second-round pick to acquire him, in addition to the actual cost of a contract. He'll likely see his role reduced next season, as Keenan Allen (knee) is believed to be on track in his recovery from a torn ACL.

Inman has been tendered by the Chargers, Michael Gehlken reported on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
An undrafted free agent who joined the Chargers active roster in 2014, Inman has produced well when pressed into action, recording 1,296 receiving yards and seven touchdowns over the last two seasons. While the 28-year-old likely will need to fight for playing time, he's proven to be a fantasy asset when he's seen the targets. Given the health concerns of Keenan Allen, there's certainly a chance Inman could find his way into a prominent role in the near future.

Inman caught four of five targets for 51 yards in Sunday's loss to Kansas City.
EDGE Analysis
With offensive weapons dropping like flies in San Diego this season, Inman improved upon last season's surprise emergence in every statistical category. He saved some of his best efforts for late in the season, catching at least four passes in seven of his final nine outings. There are plenty of questions surrounding the Chargers at the moment, including whether Inman will be back. He enters restricted free agency as a big target who has shown himself capable of stretching the field.

Inman caught three passes for 44 yards in Saturday's loss to the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Despite being targeted 10 times, Inman was unable to haul in more than three passes for just the second time since Week 8. Still, in what has quietly been an outstanding campaign for the third-year player, Inman has developed into one of Philip Rivers' most consistent targets, racking up 40 receptions, 580 receiving yards and three touchdowns since Week 7.

Inman caught five of eight targets for 68 yards in Sunday's 19-16 loss to the Raiders.
EDGE Analysis
Inman led the team in receptions and yardage in this one while finishing one target behind Tyrell Williams for the top spot in that category. Although Williams has been viewed as the team's top wideout, Inman has quietly outproduced him four consecutive games and could continue to do so with the former reportedly playing through a lingering shoulder injury. He could continue this recent trend in production next week against the hapless Browns.

Inman caught six of his seven targets for a team-high 71 yards and a TD in Sunday's 28-16 loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Though QB Philip Rivers had a tough day, highlighted by five turnovers, Inman managed to put together a solid fantasy stat line Sunday, while scoring for the third straight game. With fellow wideout Travis Benjamin not doing much of late, Inman and Tyrell Williams head into Week 15's game against the Raiders as the Chargers' top two fantasy options at the position.

Inman caught two of his five targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
While Inman caught his second touchdown in as many weeks, his performance wasn't exactly eye-popping despite seeing the highest number of targets among his fellow receivers. Much of that could be attributed to Philip Rivers' general ineffectiveness, as the quarterback managed to complete just over 50 percent of his passes on the afternoon. For the moment, Inman appears to be one of the top targets to own within the Chargers' passing attack and should have a favorable matchup against the Panthers next week.

Though Inman missed the end of Sunday's win over the Texans while being evaluated for a possible concussion, he was subsequently cleared, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Inman -- who caught six passes for 119 yards and a TD on Sunday -- will thus avoid entering the NFL's concussion protocol and is on track to suit up next week against the Bucs. Meanwhile, fellow wideout Tyrell Williams, who was targeted 14 times in the game, is dealing with an apparent right shoulder injury.
