DeCicco was released by the Vikings, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. DeCicco underwent hip surgery last week, so he likely got an injury settlement with the team.

DeCicco will have surgery on his hip Thursday, ESPN 1500 am Twin Cities reports. He was a long shot to make the roster, so he'll likely be released with an injury settlement.

Vikings signed LBs Dom DeCicco and Michael Zimmer, and waived QB Travis Partridge and OG Conor Boffeli. Zimmer is a second-year UDFA out of Illinois State. He has no known relation to the Vikings' head coach. Boffeli and Partridge were immediately cut after rookie minicamp. DeCicco is an athletic former college strong safety.

Bears re-signed LB Dom DeCicco. DeCicco was released in August with an injury settlement after undergoing groin surgery. The Bears are bringing him back as insurance with Brian Urlacher's (hamstring) status in doubt. Nick Roach will move to the middle with Geno Hayes on the strong side if Urlacher sits out at Minnesota.
