Bears released TE Desmond Clark. "I played my butt off but sometimes it's more about the business," tweeted Clark. "That's what it boiled down to." This may be the end of the line for the 34-year-old after suffering a knee contusion last week. Clark has 323 catches for 3,591 yards and 27 TDs in his 12-year career.

The Bears are characterizing TE Desmond Clark's knee injury as a routine "bruise." Clark's injury looked serious when he went down in the third preseason game, but this shouldn't be the factor that prevents him from making the final roster. A numbers game and Clark's age (34) may still cost him his spot on the 53.

Desmond Clark's knee injury is not believed to be of the season-ending variety. Clark got lucky because he took a horrific hit. There's still a chance he won't make the roster, especially if he's out longer than a month.

Bears TE Desmond Clark was carted off the field with a left knee injury in Saturday night's preseason game. It looked bad, and we're guessing it's serious. Clark, brought back to Chicago on a one-year deal at the start of camp, may not have made the final 53.

Bears agreed to terms with TE Desmond Clark. Who would have thought the 34-year-old Clark would outlast Greg Olsen and Brandon Manumaleuna in the Windy City? The Bears tight end corps is now comprised of Clark, Kellen Davis, and former Steeler Matt Spaeth. Clark is nearing the end of the line, so Davis will see the most snaps of the trio.
