Hill was released by the Panthers on Wednesday, Alaina Getzenberg of The Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The safety played in only two games for the Seahawks last season, recording 10 tackles before a back injury ended his season. He never really got a chance to prove himself with Panthers as a COVID-19 designation forced him out practice right when training camp began. Carolina activated Hill from the reserve/COVID-19 list before cutting him, though, so he enters free agency with a clean bill of health.

Hill was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hill only appeared in two games for the Seahawks last season, tallying 10 tackles before going down with a back injury. The fifth-year safety is also currently on the physically unable to perform list so he will have to come off both before he's able to return to the field. When he does he will likely fill a depth role for Carolina's secondary.

The Seahawks placed Hill (back) on injured reserve Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hill has already missed three games with this back injury, and now that he's on IR, he'll be required to miss three more. The Seahawks signed 2015 first-round pick Damarious Randall off the practice squad in a corresponding move to add depth behind starters Jamal Adams (groin) and Quandre Diggs. Hill will be eligible to return Week 10 against the Rams.

Coach Pete Carroll indicated Monday that Hill (back) could potentially end up on injured reserve soon, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hill has missed the last two games with a lingering back issue. It remains unclear when he will be able to return, which has the Seahawks considering a placement on IR. More clarity on his situation should come as the week goes on.

Hill (back) has been ruled out for the Seahawks' Sunday night matchup against the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old safety fielded 85 percent of the defensive workload during Seattle's Week 2 win over the Patriots, but he's been beleaguered by a back injury since that point and unable to return to game action. Hill's absence becomes even more impactful for Sunday night because Jamal Adams (groin) has also been ruled out for the matchup against the Vikings. Seattle is the NFL's 32nd-ranked pass defense -- with nearly 60 more passing yards allowed per game than any other team (401). The unit is expected to have Ryan Neal in place as its starting free safety against Minnesota, with Adams and Hill inactive.

Hill (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old has been sidelined by the back injury since Week 2, but he may be able to retake the field this weekend. Jamal Adams (groin) was already ruled out, so if Hill is available he could receive the start Sunday.

Hill (back) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Hill didn't practice all week after suiting up as a limited participant for Wednesday's walk-through, so this news isn't surprising. With Hill sidelined for Week 4, look for Ryan Neal to draw the start at safety alongside Quandre Diggs.

Hill (back) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Dolphins, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hill hasn't practiced since Wednesday when he was a limited participant during the team's walk-through. It appears he's trending in the wrong direction, and with Jamal Adams (groin) already ruled out, expect Ryan Neal to start at safety alongside Quandre Diggs.

Hill (back) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hill was inactive for Week 3's win over the Cowboys due to a back issue, and it's still bothering him to start the practice week. With Jamal Adams (groin) trending in the wrong direction ahead of Sunday's game versus the Dolphins, if Hill can shake off the injury, he'll likely start at strong safety.
