Thomas was inactive Sunday due to his similarities with rookie Tyreek Hill, Blair Kerkhoff of KansasCity.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Chiefs made the surprising move to keep both Thomas and rookie Tyreek Hill on the team's 53-man roster following final cuts prior to the regular season opener. However, Thomas was made inactive Sunday, while Hill was on field. Coach Andy Reid clarified the matter and said that both players provide similar qualities both offensively and in the return game, so they only needed one to be active. Hill made most of his limited opportunities, with a nine-yard touchdown on his only catch of the game. He also had three punt returns with an average of 11 yards per return. If Hill continues to impress and remains active, it appears Thomas could be a mainstay on the team's inactive list.

Thomas (coach's decision) is out for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Thomas will be inactive alongside fellow Chief Jamaal Charles (knee), with his next opportunity to return coming Week 2 against the Texans. The 23-year-old impressed throughout the preseason, but likely won't have a significant role in the offense moving forward.

Thomas has earned a spot on the Chiefs' 53-man roster, the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rod Streater was expected to take a spot over Thomas but the team instead jettisoned Streater to San Francisco and held on to the 23-year-old speedster. Still, he remains buried on the depth chart and isn't expected to contribute as much on special teams in 2016 either.

Despite a solid effort (four grabs for 45 yards) in Thursday's preseason finale against the Packers, ESPN's Adam Teicher projects that he will miss the team's 53-man roster.
EDGE Analysis
Thomas was valued for his return skills and speed out of college but the team has added multiple other bodies that can fill his role and have outperformed Thomas in camp. It's unlikely he will stay with the Chiefs beyond Saturday but his special team skills could earn him a bid with another club in need.

Thomas may not make the Chiefs' 53-man roster, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teicher suggests that Thomas is not among the team's top six receivers and sits behind Tyreek Hill on the punt returner spot of the depth chart. Unless he can carve out a role in the final couple preseason games, it may spell the end of the speedster's run in Kansas City.

Thomas said he is still trying to recover from a concussion, the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Chiefs placed Thomas on the non-football illness list before Week 17, with head coach Andy Reid saying that the slot receiver's absence was not related to his concussion. Thomas apparently disagrees, hinting at significant discord between the player and organization. He still has two years remaining on his rookie contract, but it's no longer clear that Thomas will be back with the Chiefs in 2016.

The Chiefs have placed Thomas on the non-football illness list, ESPN's Adam Teicher reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the move, the versatile Thomas is done for the season, which represents a hit to both the Chiefs' depth at wideout, as well as the team's punt return unit.

Thomas (not injury-related) did not practice Wednesday, the Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thomas missed this past Sunday's game against the Browns due to a personal issue and his continued absence from the team Wednesday suggests that his playing status Week 17 status remains up in the air.

Thomas (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns for a "non-football related" issue.
EDGE Analysis
Thomas has been on the team's injury report since Nov. 22 due to a concussion, and he'll miss his fifth consecutive game Sunday although the team contends that it will be for non-injury reasons. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport relayed that Thomas was not ready to play after such a long layoff, but added that he could be expected back for the Chiefs' season finale.

Thomas (concussion) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Per the Kansas City Star, in his anticipated return to action, Thomas -- who suffered a concussion back on Nov. 22 -- will bolster the Chiefs' depth at wideout Sunday and will also likely reclaim to his punt return duties. He remains a speculative Week 16 play in PPR formats, however.
