Gettis (hamstring) was waived on Monday after reaching an injury settlement with the Buccaneers, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After two big preseason games, he appears to be finally recovered from his 2011 torn ACL and 2012 hamstring woes. Gettis is competing with Armanti Edwards, Ted Ginn, and Domenik Hixon for the No. 3 job, but whoever wins will be no higher than the fourth option in the passing game.

Panthers WR David Gettis has eight catches for 138 yards through two preseason games. Reports on Gettis' training camp have been mixed at best, but he's shown big-play ability in game settings. As of Friday afternoon, Gettis leads the NFL in preseason receiving yards and is averaging 17.3 yards per catch. He's got two receptions of 20-plus yards. Gettis is worth monitoring in Dynasty leagues.
