Cobb (hamstring) took some snaps in practice Tuesday, the Titans' official site reports.
The fifth-round pick out of Minnesota had been slowed by a hamstring injury throughout the offseason, so it was encouraging to see him back in action Tuesday. With Shonn Greene released, Cobb has a chance to carve out a meaningful role in a young and unproven Titans backfield. The 229-pound rookie is the biggest running back on Tennessee's roster, making him a favorite for goal line work if incumbent starter Bishop Sankey fails to improve in that area.

Cobb suffered a hamstring injury Tuesday during Tennessee's organized team activities, The Tennessean reports. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt didn't believe Cobb's injury was serious.
Cobb enters an unsettled situation in the Tennessee backfield. The Titans' running game ranked 26th last season as Bishop Sankey underwhelmed after being handed the starting job mid-season. As such, the starting running back job should be available if Cobb makes some noise in training camp.

Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Cobb appears to be a little bit out of shape, ESPN.com reports.
Cobb weighed in at 232 pounds, up from 229 at the NFL scouting combine. He wants to be around 225 at the start of the season, and he shouldn't have much trouble getting there. While he dropped to the fifth round of the NFL Draft, Cobb did manage to land in an ideal situation for making an impact as a rookie. 2014 second-round pick Bishop Sankey was unimpressive last season, while the plodding Shonn Greene may not even make the final roster.
