Cobb (undisclosed) is expected to return to practice Monday, John Glennon of The Tennessean reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the additions of DeMarco Murray, Derrick Henry, and Dexter McCluster to the Titans backfield they have become very deep at the position. Cobb currently projects as the fourth back on the depth chart behind the aforementioned players, which means he is competing for a spot on the final roster. A return to practice is imperative for him to showcase his skill set for that competition.

Cobb's chances to make the team would improve if the Titans opt to keep six running backs, ESPN's Paul Kuharsky reports.
EDGE Analysis
While DeMarco Murray, Derrick Henry, Dexter McCluster, and a fullback are locks to make the roster, the team could choose to keep two others if they want to dip into their backfield for special teams play. Cobb is battling Antonio Andrews, Bishop Sankey and underdog David Fluellen for the remaining available spot(s) at the position.

Cobb has dropped seven pounds since last season, the Titans' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
A 2015 fifth-round draft pick, Cobb had a shot to earn a significant role as a rookie, but he was ultimately derailed by injuries and perhaps poor conditioning. His skill set as a power runner now appears redundant on the Titans roster, after the team acquired DeMarco Murray and second-round rookie Derrick Henry in the offseason. Cobb is thus left to battle with Antonio Andrews and Bishop Sankey for what will likely be one roster spot, if that. Dexter McCluster, as a passing-down specialist, appears to be the best roster fit alongside Murray and Henry. If he doesn't make the team in Tennessee, Cobb could still draw interest from other organizations before the season begins. There's also always a shot injuries could open things up for him with the Titans.

The Titans acquired running back DeMarco Murray from the Eagles on Wednesday, the Titans' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Murray is expected to be the team's starting running back in 2016, as Tennessee's management has deemed recent attempts to address the position through the draft a failure. Cobb was part of those efforts after being picked in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft, but failed to impress with an increased second-half workload after missing 10 weeks with a calf injury. The young running back's power running style offers a glimmer of hope that he could snag a goal-line role, but Murray is the odds-on favorite to garner the vast majority of touches at the position when healthy.

Cobb rushed 19 times for a career-high 73 yards and scored his first career touchdown during Sunday's 30-24 loss in Indianapolis. He wasn't targeted in the passing game, and finishes his rookie season with 146 rushing yards and one touchdown on 52 carries.
EDGE Analysis
Cobb accounted for exactly half of his season rushing total in what was by far his best career performance. His 2.8 yards-per-carry mark in 2015 leaves a lot to be desired, although being part of an atrocious Titans offense couldn't have made life easy for the rookie. Hopefully he can ride the momentum of this strong finish to early success next season.

Cobb rushed a team-high seven times for 18 yards, and netted negative-two yards on his only pass target in Sunday's 34-6 loss to Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Cobb's 2.6 yards per carry average actually raised his season mark to a dismal 2.2 on 33 carries. The rookie worked as the offense's featured running back after Antonio Andrews' opening-possession fumble was returned for a touchdown, but it's hardly surprising that he failed to muster much yardage considering he's never topped 3.1 yards per carry in a game. As anybody who's paid even an iota of attention this season knows, Tennessee's backfield situation is a mess.

Cobb rushed four times for nine yards, and was held without a target Sunday in New England.
EDGE Analysis
Cobb is clearly behind Antonio Andrews in Tennessee's pecking order at running back, as he has just six carries for 10 yards over the past two weeks. His inability to contribute as a receiver limits Cobb's upside in a Titans offense that has often struggled to open up holes on the ground.

Cobb rushed twice for one yard, and was not targeted in the passing game Sunday against the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
No Titans running back saw more than four caries against the stout Jets run defense, as Tennessee abandoned the run early after giving Cobb and Antonio Andrews 13 carries each last week against the Jaguars. Expect Cobb to find a bit more success against the Patriots next week, although his 2.1 yards per carry average through 22 NFL carries doesn't bode well for the rookie's production moving forward.

Cobb turned a career-high 13 carries into 40 yards, but was not targeted in the passing game Sunday against Jacksonville.
EDGE Analysis
Cobb saw extensive action after head coach Mike Mularkey promised to get him more involved in the offense, suggesting his new role could be permanent. The rookie still has fresh legs after missing the season's first nine weeks with a calf injury, making him a good potential early-down complement to Antonio Andrews moving forward. Next week's matchup against a strong Jets front seven is far from ideal, though.

Titans head coach Mike Mularkey said he wants to get Cobb more involved in the offense, according to TitansOnline.com.
EDGE Analysis
This is a common refrain from coaches when discussing rookie running backs, but there is actually some reason to believe that Cobb could see a bump from the three carries (for eight yards) he got in Sunday's loss to the Raiders. Mularkey insists that he meant to get Cobb more carries, but the Titans didn't have much luck on early downs and were often faced with 2nd or 3rd-and-long situations. However, even if Cobb does get a few more touches, it doesn't seem that Antonio Andrews is in any immediate danger of losing his role as the lead back. Furthermore, the Titans are about to face a Jacksonville team that's allowing just 3.3 yards per carry.
