Amendola (thigh) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate.
EDGE Analysis
Amendola exited Sunday's loss to Cleveland with what was called a hamstring injury at the time, but it's now being referred to as a thigh injury. The veteran slot receiver won't need much practice time to suit up, but he's also working on a short week, as the Panthers will be coming to town Thursday.

Amendola (hamstring) could play in Thursday night's matchup against the Panthers, Aaron Reiss of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Amendola left Sunday's Week 2 loss to the Browns with a hamstring injury after he recorded just one catch for nine yards. His status for Thursday's matchup will likely be determined based on his participation in practice this week.

Amendola suffered a hamstring injury Sunday against the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
With Nico Collins having suffered a shoulder injury earlier in the contest and Amendola not slated to return, Brandin Cooks and Chris Conley will now head the Texans' Week 2 WR corps. Prior to his exit, Amendola caught one pass for nine yards.

With Anthony Miller expected to be activated Week 2, per Aaron Reiss of The Athletics, Amendola will have competition for snaps in the slot.
EDGE Analysis
Miller was inactive for Week 1 in what essentially was a coach's decision but likely due to the team being cautious after he suffered a shoulder injury in the preseason. Amendola came up big for Houston six days after signing with the club. In just 17 snaps, he snagged all five targets and scored a touchdown. Miller, who spent all of training camp with the Texans and presumably has a better grasp of the playbook than Amendola, could steal opportunities from his fellow wideout Week 2 at Cleveland.

Amendola caught all five targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-21 win over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Amendola was a late addition to the Texans' roster, signing during the practice week leading up to Week 1, so it was surprising to see him play such a big role. He played just 17 snaps and was targeted five times, including catching an eight-yard touchdown. With Anthony Miller (coach's decision) inactive, Amendola moves ahead of him on the depth chart. Whether the Texans were being overly cautious with Miller -- who sustained a shoulder injury during the preseason -- is not known, but he did return to practice leading up to Week 1 and was off the injury report.

Amendola could serve as the Texans' top slot receiver in Sunday's game against the Jaguars with Anthony Miller (shoulder) inactive for the contest, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Miller didn't carry an injury designation into the weekend, Houston elected to scratch him to afford him more recovery time from the dislocated shoulder he suffered in mid-August. The Texans haven't announced who will enter the starting lineup in three-receiver sets alongside Brandin Cooks and Chris Conley, but given his wealth of experience out of the slot, Amendola looks like a better bet than 6-foot-4, 215-pound rookie Nico Collins to fill in for Miller. Given starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor's proclivity to favor short-yardage and intermediate targets in his prior NFL stops, Amendola could be looking at a surprising amount of volume in his Texans debut.

The Texans and Amendola agreed to a one-year contract Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Amendola has consistently been able to put up 600 receiving yards throughout his 12-year career, doing so seven times to date. But he's never topped 700, and he's only had multiple scores in a campaign on six occasions, totaling 21 TDs in 155 contests. Amendola will turn 36 during the 2021 season, but he'll have a chance to make an impact in a receiving corps with question marks behind No. 1 WR Brandin Cooks. In all likelihood, Amendola will contend for snaps with Anthony Miller (shoulder) in the slot.

Amendola has been working out and still wants to play football if he can find a good situation, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports.
EDGE Analysis
The two-time Super Bowl champion likely wants another shot to play for a contender after spending the past three years with losing teams in Miami and Detroit. Amendola will turn 36 in November, but he didn't appear washed up last season, catching 46 of 69 targets for 602 yards (13.1 yards per reception, 8.7 per target), albeit without any touchdowns in 14 games. He's never scored more than four TDs in a season, but he could be useful to an NFL team that's desperately in need of a slot receiver.

Amendola caught one of two targets for six yards during Sunday's 37-35 loss to the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Amendola was largely forgettable on a day during which Marvin Jones dusted the Vikings for 180 yards and two touchdowns. While the veteran will nonetheless finish his age-34 campaign with a career-high 13.1 yards per reception, Amendola also failed to reach pay dirt all year and he's yet to eclipse 700 receiving yards in his 12 years as a pro. Regardless of where the impending free agent signs this offseason, Amendola seems to have an uphill battle to reclaim fantasy relevance at this stage in his career.

Amendola caught five of seven targets for 37 yards during Saturday's 47-7 loss to the Buccaneers.
EDGE Analysis
Although Amendola again finished third in playing time among Lions wide receivers behind Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu, the former saw as many targets as the latter two combined and ultimately finished the day with a team-high 37 receiving yards, which tells you all you need to know about how the Lions' passing game performed in a game where Matthew Stafford (ankle) left early due to injury. It will be hard to trust any Lions pass catcher Week 17 against Minnesota if Stafford can't play.
