Lions signed CB D.J. Johnson, formerly of the Redskins. A four-year veteran, Johnson appeared in seven games for the Redskins last season, making eight tackles. He'll compete for a spot on special teams in training camp.

Redskins released CB D.J. Johnson. Johnson appeared in seven games for the Redskins in 2012, notching eight tackles as mainly a special teams player. The 27-year-old has also been with the Giants and Bucs since entering the league in 2009.

Redskins promoted CB D.J. Johnson from their practice squad. David Jones was waived in a corresponding move. The Redskins will give Johnson a chance to see if he can be an improvement in coverage and on special teams.
