Rush completed 11 of 19 passes for 72 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 17-3 loss to the Rams. He also had one rush for zero yards while losing a fumble.
EDGE Analysis
Rush drew his second straight start in the absence of Lamar Jackson (hamstring). He ran a decent first possession that resulted in a field goal, completing both of his passes for 12 yards while also scrambling for seven. However, he was intercepted on Baltimore's following drive and the team had several additional miscues before Rush was finally pulled after losing a fumble deep in Rams territory late in the third quarter. Jackson is expected back in Week 8 following Baltimore's bye, and Rush could be in danger of being demoted to the third-string quarterback.

Rush will start Sunday against the Rams after the Ravens ruled out Lamar Jackson (hamstring) for that contest, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Earlier Friday, coach John Harbaugh declined to give a game designation for Jackson ahead of Week 6 action but added that if he doesn't play, Rush would get the nod under center, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. Now that the preceding has come to pass, Rush will start his second straight game this weekend, though he'll be looking to be more productive after completing 14-for-20 passes for 179 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions during this past Sunday's 44-10 loss to the Texans.

Rush completed 14 of 20 passes for 179 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions in Sunday's 44-10 loss to the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Rush led the Ravens on a decent first drive that resulted in a field goal, completing all five of his pass attempts for 59 yards. Things imploded from there, however, as the Ravens turned in consecutive three-and-outs to end the first half before Rush threw three picks in the final two quarters. The one positive is that Rush was able to complete a long pass to Zay Flowers, salvaging the star receiver's fantasy day. Rush could be lined up for a Week 6 start against the Rams, pending Lamar Jackson's (hamstring) recovery.

Rush is slated to start at quarterback in Sunday's game against the Texans, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Lamar Jackson (hamstring) set to miss his first game for injury-related reasons since 2022, Rush will step in to make his first start as a member of the Ravens. Over his previous eight seasons in the league, Rush made 38 appearances and 14 starts for the Cowboys, completing 60.7 percent of his passes for 6.4 yards per attempt and a 20:10 TD:INT. Though Rush has been capable as a game manager when called upon to start, he brings little running upside to the table, thereby limiting much of his appeal as a fantasy option. In order to ease the burden on Rush in his first start of 2025, the Ravens could favor a run-heavy game plan led by Derrick Henry so long as the contest remains competitive.

Rush appears likely to start Sunday's game against the Texans with Lamar Jackson (hamstring) expected to be sidelined, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Ravens haven't provided official word on Jackson's status for Week 5 after he exited midway through the third quarter of Sunday's 37-20 loss to Kansas City with a hamstring issue, but a source familiar with the quarterback's injury said that he could be out 2-3 weeks. Jackson plans to try and play this coming Sunday, but in the likely event that he can't, Rush would step in to make his 15th career NFL start and his first with Baltimore. While coming on in relief of Jackson in Week 4, the former Cowboy completed nine of 13 pass attempts for 52 yards. Rush has proven to be a competent game manager in the past, but since he lacks rushing ability and has averaged a middling 6.3 yards per pass attempt for his career, he doesn't profile as an especially enticing fantasy option.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that Rush will likely start Saturday's preseason game against the Commanders, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Harbaugh said he plans to sit his starters again versus Washington, just as Baltimore did during last Saturday's 31-13 preseason win over the Cowboys, in which Rush completed 20 of 30 passes for 198 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Across his two exhibition appearances thus far Rush has thrown three interceptions. While he still appears the favorite for the No. 2 quarterback role behind Lamar Jackson over second-year pro Devin Leary, it will serve Rush well to avoid any further turnovers versus the Commanders.

Rush completed 20 of 30 passes for 198 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Saturday's 31-13 preseason win over the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Rush had emerged as a servicable backup during his time with the Cowboys, but this preseason has not gone his way through two contests. He threw an interception on his first pass attempt in his first exhibition game and then threw a pick-six late in the first quarter against his former team Saturday. Rush also managed to lead three scoring drives, including a one-yard touchdown throw, and he should still be in line to serve as Lamar Jackson's backup come Week 1 of the regular season.

Rush completed two of four passes for 16 yards, with an interception, in Thursday's preseason game against Indianapolis.
EDGE Analysis
Rush got the start, leading the second-string offense, and threw an ugly interception on the second snap of the game. The Ravens then scored a touchdown on his second and final drive, although Rush didn't do much besides hand the ball to RB Keaton Mitchell. Rush's contract and track record put him safely in the No. 2 QB role for Baltimore, preseason miscues aside.

Rush and the Ravens have agreed to a two-year contract valued at up to $12.2 million, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rush spent the first eight seasons of his career in Dallas and made 14 starts during that span, winning nine of those games. The 31-year-old saw the most action of his career last year after Dak Prescott (hamstring) was hurt in Week 10, and Rush finished with an 83.8 passer rating, completing 61 percent of his 308 pass attempts with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions over 12 games. With Baltimore, Rush will be the No. 2 QB behind Lamar Jackson, who has missed just one regular-season contest over the past two years.

Cowboys COO Stephen Jones said the team thinks highly of Rush but won't necessarily re-sign him, David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
"You know how much we think of [Rush]," Jones said. "We just don't know what he's going to cost. When we're paying Dak [Prescott] what we're paying him, unfortunately we do have to go cheap there." Jones also hinted at the likelihood of third-stringer Trey Lance moving on to a new team, potentially leaving the Cowboys to sort through rookies or bottom-of-the-barrel veterans for the backup QB work in 2025. Rush has won nine of 14 starts in his career, likely putting him near the top of the backup market even though he's 31 years old.
