Johnson caught two of five targets for 21 yards Sunday against the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Injuries to Darius Slayton, Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay got Johnson some looks, but he's still a tertiary option in the offense and will barely see the field if/when the starters get healthy.

Johnson failed to catch any of his three targets in Sunday's 44-20 loss to the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson played 44 percent of the Giants' offensive snaps, but he was unable to make an impact during his time on the field. With fellow wideout Kenny Golladay sidelined with a knee injury, the 24-year-old may find himself in a more prominent role Week 6 against the Rams, especially if Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) are also sidelined for a third game in a row.

Johnson could have a significant role this Sunday with both Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) ruled out to face the Saints, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
A few weeks back, Johnson was claimed off waivers by a Giants team with three experienced starters plus a rookie first-round pick at his position. Following a pair of healthy scratches, Johnson was active for Week 3 as the No. 5 receiver, ultimately catching five of seven targets for 51 yards after Shepard and Slayton left early. Johnson even led the team's wideouts with an 84.8-percent snap share in the second half, as No. 1 receiver Kenny Golladay was battling through a hip injury. Of course, Golladay seems healthier this week, and the Giants also have John Ross (hamstring) on track to return from injured reserve. It amounts to an unpredictable situation behind Golladay, with each of Johnson, Kadarius Toney, Ross and C.J. Board in the mix for WR snaps.

Johnson caught five of seven targets for 51 yards in Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson saw his involvement increase after starting wideouts Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard both suffered hamstring injuries. Their absences enabled Johnson to tie for New York's team lead in targets and trail only Saquon Barkley in receptions. Should Slayton and Shepard be sidelined going forward, Johnson, a second-year pro, could see his value benefit from significant playing time opposite fellow big-bodied wideout Kenny Golladay, with rookie first-round playmaker Kadarius Toney a prime candidate to help fill any potential voids as well.

Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game at Washington, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson was a roster casualty of the Jaguars on cut-down day, but he found a new home in New York one day later. Still, he's only been with the team a little more than two weeks, and the Giants' receiving corps is healthy, so he'll remain in street clothes for a second straight game.

The Giants claimed Johnson off waivers from the Jaguars on Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jacksonville's decision to cut Johnson on Tuesday was a mild surprise after he earned some playing time late in his rookie season. The 2020 fifth-round pick is one of the league's tallest wideouts at 6-foot-6, providing some size for a receiver corps that doesn't have much of it beyond Kenny Golladay. Even so, Johnson will need to impress on the practice field to keep his roster spot, hoping to work his way up the depth chart eventually. The Giants have struggled to keep their wide receivers healthy all summer, but the key guys appear tentatively on track for Week 1.

The Jaguars have waived Johnson.
EDGE Analysis
The move comes as something of a surprise, and it remains to be seen if Johnson is claimed by another team. Following the Jaguars' initial cuts, DJ Chark, Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault are entrenched as Jacksonville's top three wideouts, and it looks like the team plans to shuffle the deck depth-wise beyond that trio.

Johnson didn't catch either of his two targets during Sunday's preseason win over the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson encouragingly saw some action with Trevor Lawrence and the first-team offense Sunday, though he also played with the third-stringers during the second half with Jake Luton at quarterback. The 23-year-old receiver seemingly has been unable to separate himself throughout camp while competing for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart, while Marvin Jones (shoulder) and Laviska Shenault clearly entrenched themselves as Jacksonville's top available wideouts with DJ Chark (finger) sitting out. Johnson finished the preseason catching only two of five targets for 24 yards and a touchdown. The 2020 fifth-round pick may not be at risk of being cut at the roster deadline, but his outlook is certainly trending down ahead of Week 1 at Houston.

Johnson caught his lone target for a 24-yard touchdown during Monday's preseason game against the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson played 23 offensive snaps and saw his only production of the contest come late in the fourth quarter with C.J. Beathard helming the offense. Johnson hasn't produced much through two preseason games, as he has now caught two of three targets for 24 yards and a touchdown while playing 71 offensive snaps. With DJ Chark (finger) still sidelined after undergoing surgery in early August, it's a bit concerning Johnson isn't working with either the first- or second-team offense in preseason action while fighting for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart.

Johnson caught one of two targets for zero yards during Saturday's preseason game against the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson played 48 offensive snaps to lead Jacksonville's wideouts, but he didn't have much involvement in the offense during the preseason opener. The 23-year-old is attempting to secure the No. 4 spot on the depth chart and is dealing with a revamped group of wide receivers. Josh Hammond and Tavon Austin were the only depth receivers for the Jaguars to eclipse 20 receiving yards in the contest.
