Cole has been released by the Panthers, Jonathan Jones reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cole, a 35-year-old veteran defensive tackle, appeared in the Panthers' first two games of the 2015 season, making just one tackle. The team signed undrafted rookie defensive end Ryan Delaire from Washington's practice squad in the wake of Cole's departure.

The Panthers have signed Cole to one-year deal, worth $1.05 million, ESPN.com reports. Bringing Cole back is a boost to the Panthers' defensive interior, but on the heels of a season in which he recorded 28 tackles in 16 games (including 10 starts), his IDP utility is modest.

Panthers re-signed DT Colin Cole to a one-year contract. Cole returns as the Panthers' top reserve defensive tackle behind Star Lotulelei and Dwan Edwards. Cole didn't play a single down in 2011-12, but turned in 316 competent snaps as a run stuffer last season. Cole turns 34 in June.

Panthers DT Colin Cole was forced from Carolina's Week 16 game against the Saints with a calf injury, and is doubtful to return. Cole limped off the field very gingerly, and is almost certainly done for the day. Cole is a starter, but a weak link along Carolina's fearsome defensive line.

Panthers signed DT Colin Cole. Cole, an eight-year veteran, was last heard from in July of 2011 when he was battling ankle issues. The run-stuffing defensive tackle has 218 career tackles and 4.5 sacks. He was last with the Seahawks, starting 26 games from 2009-10. Carolina is awfully thin in the middle, but Cole still faces long odds.
