Colts OC Bruce Arians has been impressed with second-round TE Coby Fleener's blocking in training camp.
"He's solid. He's a really good blocker on the offensive line," said Arians. "We need to get him better as a receiver. But he's making progress." Arians' comments are essentially the opposite of Fleener's pre-draft scouting reports. The strength of his game is as a pass catcher. The question is whether fellow rookie Dwayne Allen siphons too much production for weekly fantasy value.

Colts signed rookie TE Coby Fleener, the No. 34 overall pick, to a four-year contract.
The Colts have now signed their entire draft class. At least based on Combine measurables, Fleener's athleticism rivals that of Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, and Aaron Hernandez. We want to see it in preseason games before recommending him as a sleeper TE1. We like Fleener, for now, as a TE2.

Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson sees Pro Bowls, but not "greatness" in Coby Fleener's future.
Fleener shouldn't be mistaken for a Jimmy Graham or Aaron Hernandez kind of pass-catcher, but he does run really well for a guy that goes 6'6/247. And as Williamson notes, his familiarity with Andrew Luck will make his NFL transition smoother than usual. Fleener provides solid value at his current 13th-round fantasy ADP.

Coach Chuck Pagano confirmed the Colts will rely heavily on two-tight end sets this season.
"It is a matchup nightmare," Pagano said. "I just think you see [it] more and more with the fullback position kind of dying out in college football, everybody is in the spread." Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen, the next two players drafted after Andrew Luck, will both see plenty of action as rookies after the Colts ran the fourth-fewest two-tight end sets in 2011. Fleener will be the one to target as an upside TE2 in fantasy drafts.
